Culture at Seagrave

I was speaking to an individual who works at Seagrave. He said there’s been a significant culture shift since the appointment of Martin. The bad apples have been removed and there’s a more positive vibe around the place. 
 

One of the first things Martin introduced was the banning of phones in the players canteen (part of me can’t believe they were allowed in the first place). Players are forced to speak to each other. If a player is caught with a phone in the canteen, all the players have to do a lap.

When we were relegated from the Premier league many (inc myself) thought it might be what the club needed to be able to reset.

 

We never really did reset and ended up paying the price with a consecutive relegation. 

 

Its a shame its taken us until league 1 to achieve it, but i genuinely see a difference this time.

 

Players shifted out, contracts terminated etc. I would imagine the likes of Faes & Mavididi are only here still because we can't shift them yet.

 

I don't know, I like Martin so far as a person, I like our current squad bar maybe 3-4.

 

I am looking forward to this season and it finally looks like we are resetting.

Have all of the bad apples been removed now? We probably have a pretty accurate idea who they were/are but none of us know for sure unless they have been on the inside at Seagrave.

I've heard the complete opposite from a cleaner at Seagrave. She said are Russ has basically said as long as you turn up on time, just have fun, do what you want and enjoy life, no-one higher up really gives a shit? Now I don't know what to believe.

My friend also works at Seagrave and mentioned exactly the same thing as the OP last weekend when I saw him.

The players have also been instructed to actually speak to the general staff and make time for them.

My mate cleans the toilets at seagrave. Said the players get around the phone ban by taking 45 minute sh1ts. Brussels ain’t as hard as he thinks he is.

If true that's good but christ how have players in the past been able to get away with it? Clearly a whole culture issue.

 

Most workplaces (and that's what the club is) have behaviour rules and expectations. In teams meetings, we have cameras on, uniform on when around site, no swearing etc.

Still... an improvement on the 90 minute shifts they were taking last season.
