I used to love the times when managers would just play their best eleven, and then bring others in for injuries or suspensions.

Nice and simple, play your best team, try to win the game.

Interesting taking the captaincy off Souttar and given it to Chaplin, when’s Souttars taxi to Wrexham arriving?

At 10 million, it won't.

Presumably Alves is rested with load management in mind? We have two more games in the next week. The lad has had many injury issues…

I assume Bristric is out also to instead start those next two games, having not had a proper pre season. I bet he plays 20-30 today.

Should've been the other way around if anything. Bobby Ried tends to score the odd goal occasionally as a last 20 min sub.

It's not RMs fault that it's taken well over 10 years to find any resemblance of an option to play in the no.9 position other than Vardy.  And we're still waiting.  He can only utilise what he can pick from.

The club still need to find a further two strikers to supply adequate options up front.

The Thomas pick though, no defending that one lol

It is actually slowing getting better! Hopefully it means Page is stayong now also. 🤞

Stolarczyk and McCarthy are much the same for me so don’t really care who starts

Great to see JJ starting and McFarlane

Thomas playing centre back is annoying but I can understand it if Aluko isn’t 100% and the new guy has barely trained with us

Page and Braybrooke should’ve been in together from the start of the season so good to see it now and hopefully if Page stays those two with Chaplin will be our constant middle 3

Burns I don’t mind as I expect Howell’s fitness isn’t up to him starting every game yet

Alves not starting is harsh

Bobby Reid - wtf.

Is alves not starting just saving his legs slightly given we play Tuesday and Saturday

Rotation is required. Unfortunately we don't have a back up striker. Yet.

What about rotating the head coach?

Maybe but he didn’t start against Ipswich either and only played 10 minutes

Alves would’ve been fine to start today and then the following Saturday

If he wants to rotate them for fitness then it should be alternate games

I thought that's what we are doing.

We need to do it weekly……

I thought the Thomas experiment was just to make a point...

That experiment was a success.

A lot of bed wetting going in right now. Maybe the players left out need a rest

More that he will be managing them ahead of Tuesday, it becomes indefensible if Alves isn't starting Tuesday.

Think Chaplin was always going to be captain

The Thomas and defending part didn’t make sense as when has Thomas ever really been a defender ?

Ah, so close! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I guess he feels Biscuits had a hard game Tuesday and is still getting up to speed fitness wise.

Alves can feel a little hard done by, but I expect we need to give Watson significant minutes as part of his loan.
