The passing style of play that Martin uses ultimately suits the young lads we have that people have been desperate to see play - Braybrooke, Joseph, Page, , Alves, Howell, Watson, Aluko etc. These young lads aren’t built for percentage get it forward hoofball. If you want the kids to play then accept this is the way it is. 

I think the number of people who wanted him was vanishingly small. 

 

I agree that we're going to have a lot of the ball this season whoever is in charge, but I think the players are capable of playing in different ways. Not Russball =/= hoofball.

Have the people not happy, watched back the chances from today? I get there’s still lingering frustration with the club being in League 1 and still being under the same custodians but at some point you’ve gotta start trying to be positive and support the team.

 

We had 7 of our own players today in the squad, brought through the academy and tbh most of them look like the best players on the pitch. There’s been shed loads of change this summer and soon we’re likely to have new ownership.

 

Fans are grumbling and booing at a team with the likes of Sammy, JJ and Will Alves for something they had nothing to do with, i.e. why we’re playing a shite MK Dons with a half empty stadium. Anyone who tries to say we were poor today, I have to massively disagree, it’s not perfect but it’s a damn sight better than watching the likes of Ayew, Winks, Mavididi, Faes etc stinking out the place on big wages.

Public gets what the public wants!

 

Loads of people throughout summer “I’d rather a team of our young players who actually care”, yet still boo these players. 
 

We were the better team today and yet again Reid had a one on one he should score (just like at County). We hit the woodwork twice and had at least one off the line. I think if that’s a team against us then those booing us would say we’d deserve to lose. Strange isn’t it.

"Lingering frustration". Wow that's some understatement. 

 

Fans aren't grumbling and booing at those individuals, they're grumbling and booing in frustration at the cumulative impact of years of shite.

 

Doesn't matter how pretty the football is at times and any green shoots that appear. We've gone way beyond that.

 

We're playing in Division 1, thus far this season against absolute cannon fodder and still can't score goals and win games under a manager who over complicates what should be a simple game at this level.

We might go into league 1 relegation zone this weekend, we are quite literally the lowest we have ever been in the football league. I didn’t boo today, but completely understand those who did.
 

I like the kids, I think they did well today. I have no problem them knowing this label of football is completely unacceptable for Leicester to be playing at.

Yes, some of the younger players did provide moments of quality today.

 

But ultimately not one of them was capable of providing an end product.

 

No doubt the über-geeks will be excited that once again we outperformed the opposition in terms of "expected goals".

 

But as we should know only too well after the last two seasons, it's real goals that matter.

 

We continue to come up short in that area and look like continuing to do so for the foreseeable under this manager and this regime.

 

Those that remember the standards previous City sides set at Premier level have EVERY right to call out the dross currently being produced.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's scandalous just how poor the experienced players are vs our young players this season.

 

Burns, Chaplin, Cullen etc are supposed to give us consistency in the midst of our academy players learning on the job and yet it's been the complete opposite so far and a continuation of why our fanbase is so disillusioned by our senior players.

 

Words fail me with some of them today. That said Souttar was much much better.

It doesn’t matter that the odd chance was created, generally we were poor for a league one aside and easy to handle.. that isn’t good enough in my book. When we went to league one before we smashed it up had positivity and a good squad of players, this is opposite

We were really bloody good. I’m sorry I’m not KP in or a coach 1 enthusiast. But I have watched enough dross in the past 2 seasons to know that we have a team that I want to get behind. 
 

We have got rid of the dross and today every one of them ran themselves into the ground. Like Martin or not…the players are playing for him (for now).  Some of the bad performances out there weren’t down to lack of effort. They all ran. 
 

We were desperately unlucky today. But we moved the ball quicker and it was great to see players taking a positive first touch in an attacking direction a lot of the time. There wasn’t pointless passing at the back. 
 

People need to realise we will never be a counter attacking underdog again….or at least for a long while. It’s now playing teams sitting deep and we have to be relentless.

We are criminally under strength at the top of the pitch.  That's not on RM imo.  We're in this position because the powers that be, above RM, have put us there by not finding an adequate replacement/backup option for the previous 10 years in this position.

 

If we had an equivalent to Fryatt and Howard up front, there's absolutely no chance we're in the position we are in right now with the attacking talent to back those up behind them, regardless of style of play.

 

Instead we have an inexperienced option that may come good with time and a bloke who shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.  That's not RMs fault.  That's the fault of those above him.

At the same time Ric we are 3 games in and those kids are still running on adrenaline with no real pressure.
I think we will need the likes of Chaplin & Burns when there is pressure when we are 25-30games in which ever end of the table that comes, at some point Howell will need Burns, the team will need Chaplin & the defence will need Souttar/an experienced CB.

 

But yes the kids are currently outperforming the snr players

We really need to be starting with Alves though, he's our best winger in my opinion. 

 

I agree the academy lads shouldn't be booed .. from where I was sitting the booing was more at the style of play rather than the individuals

 

I liked Admirs link up play, just needs that sharpness around the penalty area, but he's got the hunger.

 

Page, Joseph and Sammy are the stand outs along with Alves when hes on. I actually though Thomas looked decent at cb too.. didnt miss Skipp at all
