If he can fire in 10+ goals for us, that would be much needed if we are to have any ambitions of promotion, as we look desperately light up front.

Yes it’s worth remembering we signed a highly rated Fryatt who did ok but then had a torrid season scoring 3 goals and we got relegated to league one and then under Pearson the following year went on and scored nearly 30 in league one. We can’t harbour any ambition of promotion if we don’t sign anyone today and stick with the throb up top. I can’t say I’ve know too much about Riis but seems to have the right profile albeit not prolific for a team chasing to get into the premier league but maybe better placed for a team trying to get out of league one.

I noticed a few of the Bristol fans on Twitter were accusing the guy of having a bit of a lazy tendancy. For this reason, I think a loan could work better as it really incentivises the guy to play/push hard, to impress, as he either, looks for a permie move with us OR another club. 1

You are aware of the definition of the word, right? If 9 goals in 44 games is abysmal then how many goals would you need to score to be considered as having simply a decent season? By your standards I am guessing in the 35-40 range. The mind boggles. The 2nd top scorer last season had 17 goals, safe to say only one striker had a season better than, shall we label it "very bad"?
