Because it all happened so quick and was announced really late I feel like it’s gone under the radar that this is actually a really good signing.

 

Has had two League One loans in a row and done really well in both of them

This is the bit that makes no sense to me. He has done well in two previous loans at this level, so why didn’t Brighton try him in the Championship? If he is in the last year of his contract, did he push this aiming for a permanent move?

0.76 G+A p90 at Crawley, 7 goals and 4 assists in 14.5 nineties - mostly as a second striker rather than a 10 by the looks of it. Less productive at Reading but seems like he played wider and deeper.

 

Quietly excited by this deal, no contract extension as of yet hopefully means we can pick him up permanently.

That's my thinking, I'm hopeful that the loan was the quick way to get it done, and we have something in place were he come perm in Jan. 

 

Feels like he can be one for now and the future like Brastric and Kang.

might be that we can pick him up on a perm in Jan for a cut-price fee if he performs well over the next few months

Little bit lightweight, perhaps, is my only concern.

 

We know the technical ability Alves/Braybrooke/Page have, but need a bit more steel to back that up I think. I'm keen to see how Lundstram fits in as I think he'll give us that, and some level of rotation between the younger lads.

Nice we have decent depth now - other league 1 teams when injuries hit won't have the quality to back up their first XI which will work to our advantage massively over the year.

His tackles and duels data surprised me tbh - he comes in at pretty much league average for a central midfielder which considering he's a 10 is quite encouraging.

He is the steal behind the finesse.

 

We have a lot of young lads playing in a league with a lot of cloggers, Lundstram and Riis for me are signings to add some physicality. 

 

A lot of team will want to drag us into a physical battle, these two are going to help with that as will O'Hora.

I think this is the best of our late window signings.  Young with room to improve, proven at the level, and there's possibilities to make it longer term if he's a success.  And if he's shit, it's thanks for coming see ya later.

 

No downside.

I've got a feeling it was a quick way of getting him in, and we will sign him permanently in Jan.

 

With us playing a decent loan fee which will be in line with what they wanted for him on a perm.
