There is little point in speculating on a possible new manager ( although it is enjoyable ) as all the time these imbeciles are running the club whichever shill they opt for will be compelled to follow their ludicrous blueprint of tippy tappy possession nonsense . Someone has put this idea into Tops head as the way to play and he seems like the sort to buy into the last idea someone put forward and once there it can’t be  processed or changed

Lee Carsley would be perfect especially with youngsters that have broke through to the first team, but seems to be quite comfy in his England under 21's role. Otherwise he would be the ideal fit.

God I hadn’t thought about how cushty a job like that must be. Surely one of the lowest pressure/decently paid/secure/prestigious jobs in English management? Can’t believe he’s not interested in dropping down to having a crack at a league 1 relegation scrap with a gang of complete no hopers.

Patson Daka made more money in 1 month than what Carsley makes a year, so there is a big incentive for him.

Firstly, I’d like to think that a bloke like Lee Carsley would have very little need for any more money but you are probably making a good point.

 

Secondly, please never remind me patson daka existed or made any money from us ever again. That was a jump scare I should have anticipated on a LCFC forum, but somehow it was still shocking

Not sure Carsley should feel he needs to drop down to League One when a lot of people were advocating for him taking the England job full time not that long ago.

 

But if we're speaking hypothetically, there's no reason whatsoever the two jobs can't be combined. For a start there was 8 players out of 18 in our squad against Plymouth who have played for/are eligible for the U19's/U21's currently

Thing is, can you realistically see them appointing any of these names? They aren't going to go for Carsley, Pearson or Challinor because they aren't part of the pep-ball possession cult.

Isn't this all a bit pointless - yes it's fun to speculate, but truthfully, is it likely to happen? I can't see any change till a buyer is found and they appoint their own choice.
