The academy lads actually held back and got a massive positive applause and cheer, as they were the only ones out then.

Fair enough, that’s good to hear, but what do you recon they think when their mates are getting booed after barely playing 7 games for us?

Everyone is entitled to do what they want to do, you pay your money if you want to boo go and boo, but It’s not going to help get the best out of every player in my opinion.

Thing is, with the price of a ticket these days you feel like you’re almost entitled to be entertained. That’s why booing seems more prevalent these days.

Make it a tenner a ticket and if it’s shit, people won’t think they’ve been absolutely robbed by a bunch of players and a manager not fit to wear the shirt.

Hopefully, good, you're a seasoned pro sort your levels out and start playing at mine. Or don't and I'll be off out of here before long as I am better than this.

Do you think they can't see what we see in terms of their sub par performances, do you think they are brain dead because they are under 25.

Was they booing from the start

Just booing from what was being seen. It’s not negativity for the sake of it, just reacting to show that people have paid to watch.

Lots of comments about booing from people who weren’t there or had the volume turned down lol

if we continue with this points per game average then this football club will not exist in its present form beyond the end of the season. By all means keep clapping and cheering the results while that happens….

But as soon as Rudkin is chanted before kick off it’s a sign of being negative.. honestly this fan base ain’t good for the mental health lol

Rudkin should be getting an absolute barrage every game, even if by some utter miracle we're winning it.

There is going to have to be a point where we the fans stop with the booing. But that won’t be in this division when you fail to win against a poor 10 men when already 1-0 up with 70 mins left. This situation can only change if we win games of football, and yesterday was a chance to do that and get back to back wins etc - some positivity which we’re not used to. I think there are greens shoots of recovery potentially - but Martin needs to string a run together asap. But I fear yesterday was one of those sliding doors moments…

It’s not booing everyone btw. Notably the last 3-4 players off the pitch were the  academy boys who got a universal round of applause. But I hope the likes of Riis and Lundstram realise that the boos aren’t aimed at them but rather years and years of mismanagement by the hierarchy culminating in the appointment of such a divisive manager, when really they needed to appoint someone who could bring everyone together.

Genuine Questions

Why spend money going to an away game if your entire experience is going to be relentlessly negative, while also making it miserable for people sitting around you?

Was in the stands yesterday for my first away game in a while, the people behind me blaring out “Leicester are going down with Russell Martin” every five minutes, or the “we lost last week, we lost today” chant, and Reid, Thomas, Watson and Burns getting abuse every time they touched the ball.

Ok look for something to moan about, fair enough. Have a bit of frustration, fair enough,  but deliberately creating a miserable atmosphere for the people around you is just pathetic.

If all you want to do is abuse our own players and ruin the experience for everyone else, don't go. Stay at home.

You stay at home then, if you cant handle it, don't go. It happens at every club.. Get over it

Yeah because that’s clearly what’s been said isn’t it.

Also, to play devils advocate on the “start playing at mine” comment, had Alves and Braybrooke took their chances yesterday we win comfortably. I’m not blaming them for the draw or performance because Alves was one of our better players.

Honestly, the whole atmosphere around the club, regardless of who is causing/responsible for it, is likely to cause the young lads to want out at the first opportunity. Clearly, the ownership needs sorting and clearly they really have made a bad appointment and clearly continued to make mistakes re signings wages but there are better ways to put that point across than directing that at some of the players  in my opinion.

I’ve said before, if I’m a player who gives a shit I’m trying to host an honest fan forum to clear the air but that’s not going to happen.

Why do you people care so much about how the players and manager feel?

I don’t think support or lack of has affected our fortunes one iota on the pitch over these past few years.

A toxic atmosphere, however, may speed up necessary actions such as:

- the manager leaving

- certain players leaving

- the owner leaving

- Rudkin leaving

The priority is change. Whether that’s through boycotting or abuse, demanding change is essential.

There’s no way you genuinely believe we’re a crap team because of a lack of support. So why are you saying all this?

I suspect it’s because you’re tied to an archaic perception of what football support should be, based on a time when you were supporting local people who you could potentially have some connection to. It’s so, so outdated. None of these people have earned our support, and they clearly don’t value it. We tried it your way - and were met with nothing positive. Just disrespect, 3 relegations and the humiliation of much of our fanbase thinking it’s ok.

That latter point, in itself, is a good enough reason to shout abuse. Every player, every media outlet, every city, town and fanbase in the country should know that we are big club massively underachieving, that our fans have too much pride to respect this team.

Otherwise we’ll be defined by that gif of the old bag dancing around with a smile on her face after our relegation, so unbothered because she’s looking forward to scoffing an entire family bucket of chicken from KFC for tea. That’s what I think of when I think of our club now.

If you’re going to matches then demand standards I say. When we’re toiling in League One booing isn’t just a right, it’s a duty.

Booing isn't going to speed up the manager leaving if we can't afford to sack him. He's quite possibly a twat.

Booing isn't going to make the players leave as they'll earn a cushty salary regardless of whether you're clapping or booing them, likely far more than they'll earn elsewhere as evidenced by the past however many years of decline. They'd also require clubs to be interested in them and can't leave until January earliest for any kind of transfer fee. We still have many twatty players.

Booing isn't going to make the owner leave any quicker. He's already put the club up for sale and the process isn't sped up by booing. He is a twat though.

Booing isn't going to make Rudkin leave, a change of ownership will. He's also a twat.

I don't disagree with most of the negativity though, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure that the way we're going about it is either "demanding standards" or going to lead to what people might want.

I totally agree with the point raised around it being misdirected to the players. It shouldn’t be them, well bar a few!

The trouble this club has is that the lack of communication from the top has boiled over into frustration, because we simply do not hear anything about what is going on, that is completely on Top & Rudkin & they deserve pelters for this.

The one thing that annoys me especially about rudkin is that he sits in the stands & is almost like a robot figure. The bloke doesn’t move a muscle & just looks like he’s staring into the abyss. You simply cannot in these days have trust with fans who pay there hard earned money to go to the arse end of nowhere on a Saturday & expect to be content with this.

Myself & I guess the majority on there are just waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel because at the minute, it just seems like that moment is a long way off!

Lundstram looked like one of the better players for sure

Its a dilemma because do we not attend and watch the club disappear or voice our disappointment at the poor tactics, bad management and the players lack of commitment.

We don't  pick the side but can influence the manager by showing our disgust at his favouritism and bad calls on substitutions.

I have never felt so detached from the club ever, never has there been darker days and worse results or no hope on the horizon all because we lost our saviour in a tragic helicopter crash.

I'm sorry that your lad had to experience that and that shouldn't be tolerated at all. I was sat right behind the goal and someone threw what looked to be a lighter at their keeper.

In regards to the Faes comment though he deserves what he gets, he's been vocal about not wanting to be here yet happy to collect his wage from us. Sums up the recruitment of this club over the past 4/5 years what with winks etc.

Anyway I do think a lot of the booing is for Martin, Top and Rudkin and the mess we are in.

Personally thought the younger players did well, Alves and Braybrooke but the game management from Martin was very poor.

100% faes deserves it but not in the middle of a game what we need to win!

I disagree with your perspective on the reality of the situation, and really everything you say.

Being glib, to your last sentence - if your opinion is that being a good supporter to this team is getting behind and extending the lifespan of the worst performing leadership, driven by pathetic business acumen and disasterous financial mismanagement, then in my opinion, don't just stay at home, get away from our club. We aren't doing enough to challenge this club let alone trying to make it nice and cosy and friendly for them while they suck the life out of Leicester city.

What did you expect this post to achieve "oh yeah fair enough. Maybe if we'd have clapped Winks a bit more last year, we'd have stayed up" or "Maybe if we got behind the playing staff (I would only use the term lads for some of the young players because the others don't deserve that term of friendly familiarity) we wouldn't be such dross in the bottom half of league one"

Wake up. your opinion is yours, and yours to share, but as others have pointed out better than me, the support is there for the team when they show the fight and spirit, especially the youth.

You expect any city fan to get behind Faes? But you know when a braybrooke or Alves etc make a good pass or a bad one, the fans are backing them.

Same old case of punching down when the problems span from the leadership, through the players, some who are more complicit than others. No, it isn't pleasant and it's only going to get worse, but the club and the fans come before everything else. Anything else is temporary.

Way more yesterday did boo and get after them than did get behind them at 1 up.

Shame really. Was really good for 20-25 mins, if we’d gone on and done what we should, might have been one of the best in ages.
