I mean Stevenage also won their first game of the competition 6-1 but against adults not children so probably doesn’t bode well

I still can't get my head around being in League one and in this competition.

Earlier I thought Stevenage, what division are they in? I had to check. Not only in the same league as us, they are currently above us.

My grandson is a Stevenage fan. When he started following the game I thought that's a nice level to follow his local team. Never imagined we end up in the same division. Even he is uncomfortable with it!

How do the rules on selection work if our last game was also this competition? Do the rules from the last league fixture still apply? or now do we just have to select people that played in the last efl trophy game?

I don't think it makes much difference due to the squad we have available due to internationals and the players who fit into the "4 qualifying players" criteria

 

Aluko, O'Hora, Thomas, Braybrooke, Alves started against both Barnsley and Fulham U21 and I expect will probably start against Stevenage

1972 England v West Germany Euro Qtr finals 

We played Spurs on the same day. We were missing Shilton and Nish. Spurs didn't have Chivers or Peters

This was 30 years before international breaks and the Euros at that time only had 4 teams in the final tournament.

It wasn’t the final tournament, everything up to and including the 1/4 finals was qualifying. They only decided the hosts from the final 4.

Listening to MNF on radio Leicester, the radio Leicester presenter was talking to a punter from Stevenage and asked what it will be like facing a team like Leicester. Expecting a different reply our presenter got shot down a bit when the reply was that we are just another 1st division club. Very true though.

De Lisle back from international duty then. Quite surprised if he is included as we have almost all of our central midfield available bar Page but Smallbone will be looking for minutes surely.
