We've seen big clubs in 3rd tier but they normally are at top end going for promotion (Birmingham the other year, Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester last time around). But when was the last time a good sized clubs were in this kind of mess on the pitch?

Not having it, much smaller club. We have to keep a level of self respect!

To answer OP's question, I guess Wolves were lower, but again would argue not of our stature. I think we're plumbing unprecedented depths

Maybe they are a bit "smaller" depending on what metric you want to use. The OP said "good sized club" though not club as big as ours.

Wolves on the other hand are at least the same size as ours considering their history and similar fan base size.

Blackburn under Venkys

'On the pitch'. Blackburn had one season in League One and comfortably won automatic promotion.

Coventry were relegated to L1 in 2012 and had to groundshare with Northampton. then they were relegated to L2 in 2017, so it could get worse.

Man City were in the third tier, 98-99.

Coventry is a fair shout but we've gone full circle with them and Leicester the bigger club.

Man City didn't have the best of starts that season but did win promotion.

Wolves in mid 80s for sure.

Would you count Portsmouth?  They finished 16th in league 2 around the time we were winning the premier league.

Possibly.  I'd say Leicester a bigger club though. Portsmouth only had 30 top flight seasons.

It's the speed at which it's all happened.  From cruising on a private jet to falling out of it without a parachute.  And seemingly not even realising!

Sheff Wednesday in L1 this year.

Blackpool had a season in L2

Wendy's have been in league one for several years and Blackpool are a lower league outfit. Nowhere near this
