“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” - Albert Einstein, which Rudkin and Top are not (to state the fvckin obvious).

Its not a quote from Einstein. I found that out on here when I said the same thing ages ago....

Yes - they cling on hoping to avoid having to sack - and then they do pull the trigger having failed to line anyone up.

Russell Martin is not the cause of our problems, which run very deep and began years before he arrived. But he is not, and never was, the solution. We’ve lost so many games over the past five years because we can’t defend and are piss easy to play against. It was obvious to everyone that we were desperately in need of a manager who would make us hard to play against—and the starting point to achieving that is to strengthen the defence. Yet a brief glance at Martin’s record shows he’s never shown any ability to coach a defence—in fact, defensive fragility is one of the defining features of his coaching style.

We appointed a coach who was only ever going to exacerbate our existing problems rather than solve them. And everyone could see it apart from the people who run our club.

You would think you would just seek a manager who would go back to basics……

We’re so ****ing random, they go from Rowett who is apparently an experienced EFL manager, to Martin, who’s an experienced failure……. There’s no rhyme or reason to our recent managerial appointments.

Rowett was a serial failure who didn’t even want to manage anymore.

We’ve already wasted an international break and the Peterborough game.

Why give this prat any more games?

We’ve won 2 fvcking matches and still not reached double figures.

I am hoping today’s the day but I very much doubt it.

This guy got out thought by Robbie Savage. If that isn’t a sackable offense I don’t know what is.

Challinor if he Martin goes. Wanted him before.

Unless Challinor plays possession football, McCarron is absolutely not going to recruit him based on his interview on Saturday.

I am the biggest KP and Top out person. But don't believe the 'doesn't matter who we get in as manager whilst they are there'. I agree they have zero idea what they're doing manager wise and keep failing. But it is possible to get a manager in and have some success on the pitch. Rohl at Wednesday was an example of this. Shite ownership off the pitch and he had them mid table I think and well above expectations.

Martin was the shittest appointment out of the lot though, literally everyone knew how it was going to go with him. There was some hopes when the others came in at least. Just get him gone

Rohl seems to rub the ownership up the wrong way.

Which is not a bad thing. This industry is full of yes men. Just dont see out lot doing anything else other than brining in a yes man who sticks to the plan.

I bet he was sacked Saturday but he hasn’t left the training ground yet because he keeps moving sideways and backwards.

Top is unsure whether to change his mind and give Martin a contract extension.

I presume Top still thinks Brendan Rodgers is manager, and we are a few wins away from a Europa spot.

Hes not going anywhere, certainly not before Christmas anyway.

He has the full backing of the powers that be (King).

I can only see him going if we

a) get new owners

b) go in administration

With KP asking for just shy of £200M its likely to be the latter.

Quick AI search:

Dave Challinor implements a highly purposeful, possession-oriented tactical philosophy that typically dominates the ball. During his highly successful tenure with Stockport County, his teams averaged 57% possession. [1, 2]
Rather than keeping the ball purely for defensive safety, Challinor uses possession aggressively to pin opponents back, squeeze the lines with a high defensive block, and sustain attacks in the opposition half. [1, 2]
Core Tactical & Possession Profile
  • Average Possession: 57% (documented during his title-winning campaign with Stockport County).
  • Preferred Formations: Fluid structures, most frequently utilizing a 3-4-2-1, 3-5-2, or a flexible 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 depending on recruitment and squad depth.

It won't be for a while yet unless it's heavy defeat after heavy defeat. McCarron clearly stated that dominating possession eventually leads to better results, which means they will give it time.
