Watched "The Harder They Fall" last night on Netflix. It's an unusual but a very engrossing film. (Graphic violence and language warnings) Good soundtrack and we enjoyed it. Almost Tarantino-like.

A distinctively different western that has style and swagger to burn, if you were to judge director Jeymes Samuel's first proper feature film The Harder They Fall on visuals and aesthetics alone it would go down as one of 2021's most impressive entries

Watched this last night and agree, really enjoyed it, solid 8/10 film.

8/10 is solid? People's ratings confuse me a lot of the time.

5/10 is meh/average. 6 is decent. 7 is good. 8 is excellent. 9 is absolutely fantastic. 10 is one of the best films you've ever seen.

Always makes me laugh when people say it wasn't very good, a bit crap really.... 6/10.

No you misunderstand me, a film can be a solid 7/10 or 9/10, when I say that I mean well worth the rating I'm giving it.

A film like alien, psycho, arrival they're 10 out of 10s, to me.

I liked the first one but I think the range rover murders, and the whole Essex boys thing has been done to absolute death now.

Having said that I might have to stick it on because I've been scrolling through Netflix and amazon for about 45minutes now looking for something to watch 😂😂

The Matt Walsh documentary What is a woman. Not sure what to say about it really, interesting to say the least

If one is looking for schadenfreudic entertainment and cringe comedy at someone embarrassing themselves as opposed to anything that is in any way informative or accurate, yeah.

It's like 2000 Mules in that regard.

I was explaining to her that saying "you buggered that"  to a 5 year old perhaps wasnt the best thing to say.  lollol

Not intentionally, for sure.

That being said, it would be funnier if Mr Walsh and those fundies that think like him didn't command an awful lot of political power in the US which they then use to go after anyone they deem "unnatural".

Ah ok I get you know. You're looking at it politically. Tbh I don't know hardly anything about Mr Walsh and my missus had never even heard of him and she found it interesting as well.

Fair enough.

Pardon me for going a bit "shark at chum" at the vast majority of what most of folks like Mr Walsh have to say. Put it this way then: I'm sure it was interesting, but please don't take anything within it at face value.

Ok no problem. This is the film thread so best leave it anyway haha.

Bullet Train - 6/10

A decent effort that's ultimately let down by its running time. There's a really sleek, witty action caper in there dying to get out, but it's a bit bloated and had a few too many characters to deal with. It had some really good action scenes and comic moments though.

I enjoyed Prey - the latest Predator reboot, very good

I shall watch that tonight.

I watched Lightyear last night. Pants. Dull and uninspiring. If that's the film Andy started to love Buzz Lightyear then he must be a right little melt.

Lightyear was abysmal, plodding, and sent to sleep the 2 people in the house who demanded it went on.

So I made them watch Serenity afters.
