Jerry and Marge Go Large

Based on a true story about a man who figures out a system to repeatedly win the lottery.

Entertaining, but felt like I was watching a Made for TV movie

Thanks, I watched this last night and enjoyed it.

Just back from watching Elvis, which I thought was brilliant.

It’s a bit long and as it goes on it can’t sustain the bonkers intensity of the first half, but it really captures the sort of dangerous ‘energy’ that Elvis seemed to have.

Two Netflix films I watched over the weekend, Burnt with Brad Cooper and Hustle with Adam Sandler. Burnt had a poor ending but enjoyable and Hustle was class, great basketball film.

So damn hard for me to watch anything with Adam Sandler in it.

Have you ever seen any of his films that aren't comedies though?

Can we class any of his films as comedies?

No

He’s played annoying idiots in bad movies for so long, that it’s not believable that he can do anything else (for me anyway)

You're missing some excellent films.

Punch Drunk Love

Reign Over Me

Uncut Gems

Hustle

All very good films with top notch performances from Sandler.

Weirdly I saw an article yesterday where Bill Nighty said his favourite film ever was Punch Drunk Love.

I find the out right banter status and snobbery over Sandler really odd, verging into Coldplay territory. Usually most people who criticise them will unironically watch a Seth Rogan or the other fat ones films despite the fact they don't have as many bangers as Sandler

That's my boy is an absolute banger of a Sandler comedy. Helped by the fact Andy samberg co stars but also with a cracking cameo from vanilla ice.

But I love most of Sandler's films tbh

Yeah, not a fan of Seth either.

Not sure why it’s odd that I don’t enjoy a particular brand of comedy - one that’s repeated over and over again.

The Princess

Comedic, violent action movie starring Joey King.

I was excited about this after seeing the trailer, and it did not disappoint.  I loved it!
