MikeyT Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Nathan Ellington and Jordan Stewart to Derby. *proceeds to wash mouth out with soap for saying the "D" word*
Uncle Albert Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Breaking Gossip on BBC. David Trezeguet's agent, Antonio Caliendo, has revealed that Barcelona have contacted him to try and sign the Juventus striker. "Barca are interested in David," he said. "They have been for years." (1110, L'Equipe)
whitlock Posted 1 June 2008 Posted 1 June 2008 David Lucas and Toni Ameobi have been offered new contracts by Leeds United, but Darren Kenton has been released. Following Leeds United's failure to win promotion to the Championship, manager Gary McAllister has settled on his retained list for next season. Goalkeeper Lucas has been handed a deal after making six appearances for the club since his arrival at Elland Road last September. Young striker Ameobi has also been offered a 12-month contract after featuring twice in the first team last season and also enjoying a spell on loan at S****horpe United. But McAllister has decided to release defender Kenton, who made 16 appearances for Leeds after originally joining on loan from Leicester City in January. Alan Thompson will also be off the books next season after the 34-year-old midfielder announced his retirement from professional football. bless him.
Joe. Posted 1 June 2008 Posted 1 June 2008 I always like Kenton when he was here, makes an easily capable squad player.
Koke Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 Kenton is a very good squad player. And he can easily cut it as a 1st team player in League 1. I'm surprised Leeds released him.
AmericanScott Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 He has his moments in the CCC and played well against Chelsea. He could be a good player at our level.
Daggers Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 Darren Kenton played well whenever we had a new manager, then he'd go back to being mediocre at best or sitting with his feet up being injured. If the best we can hope is to get shitty ex-players back into a below-average squad then we may as well all pack up and go home.
Tilley Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 He's a half decent utility man. Wouldn't have him back though.
Guest Posted 2 June 2008 Posted 2 June 2008 He's a half decent utility man.Wouldn't have him back though. Agreed
Leicester Lass Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 Cardiff City have confirmed Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs that have made bids for their teenage sensation Aaron Ramsey. The Champions League and Premier League winners have tabled an offer believed to be in the region of £5m. FA Cup finalists Cardiff are also considering offers for Wales' Under-21 star from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, BBC Sport understands. Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale rejected a £1m bid for Ramsey from Everton and Arsenal last summer despite the highly-rated teenager playing just 90 seconds of first-team football. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7433277.stm
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 ....didnt think he'd end up there... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/7433277.stm
Unabomber Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 I think he needed to stay at Cardiff for at least another season to get some competive football and establish himself at a decent level.
filbertway Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 He would probably be best to choose Arsenal if Fegie is retiring in two seasons...
Ric Flair Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Surprised by this, United don't usually sign young british players willy nilly, so this lad must have impressed Ferguson a lot. They are loaning him back to Cardiff for next season though.
C-man Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I'm sure I posted in a thread talking about him yesterday Edit: Ahh right it was moved to the transfer window thread...
Tilley Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Is this Aaron Ramsey really that good then When I've seen him pla, he's not been that great? 5 million is very steep, You wonder why people go abroad to buy!
General Smuts Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Gerard Pique - Manchester United to Barcelona (£5 million) My mates gan out with him. Miss Universe UK in fact. Random fact of the day.
MC Prussian Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Danny Granville - Colchester United to Leyton Orient (I've already adapted to League One standard)
RowlattsFox Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Aaron Ramsey is to join Arsenal from FA Cup finalists Cardiff City in a £5m cash deal, BBC Sport understands. Champions League winners Manchester United and Premier League giants Everton were also fighting to sign the 17-year-old Welsh wonderkid. But Ramsey has chosen Arsenal after the Gunners flew him out to Switzerland for face-to-face talks with boss Arsene Wenger, who is at Euro 2008. Unlike United, the Arsenal deal does not include a loan back option.
