We have this silliness every Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. It's a good initiative and perfectly logical. And if it's not relevant to you then great, it literally takes a second to delete.

Very succinct summary tbf, but gullible dumb happy clappers = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. These happy clappers are genuinely getting behind a multi-billionaire tax dodger because 'he says it how he sees it mate.'

I'd probably be a billionaire if I had a quid for every time you'd used happy clappers in this thread over the last year or two.

What's good about it?

If I'd seen it posted before, I wouldn't have posted it again.

Allowing people to opt out of correspondence for any reason is surely good no? What's wrong with it?

I would ask instead what's bad about it? It seems like there are two possibilities: you don't want to receive Mother's Day marketing stuff for whatever reason (e.g. your mum's just passed away and you're not really in the mood for emails telling you what to buy her), in which case it's helpful, or you do want to/don't care whether you receive it, in which case you can look at that email for maybe half a second then forget about it and it's had no impact on you whatsoever.

So they don't want to remind me of Mother's Day by sending me an email about Mother's Day?

I just don't understand it lol

It's like they can't possibly NOT send me an email about a LCFC mother's day card or some cheap tat they're selling.. it's so specific. I don't get emails from everywhere else doing similar, I don't get warnings when I walk into Tesco and their cards are on display. I just find it completely strange that's all.

I understand it's a difficult time for people, I'm not being insensitive btw. I just don't really see what it achieves and it's more for them to look good rather than actually caring.

I'd suggest you are luckily not on many mailing list because I get loads from pubs and restaurants. I understand why they do it, they'll be promoting the occasion of course because it's good for their business but realise some people might not want to see it for whatever reason. Genuinely one of the least offensive bits of promotional mail I get.

Yeah I know I can do that, but it's one that's easier to just delete as I see it rather than unsubscribe altogether. Besides, I shouldn't have to unsubscribe, thats what grinds my gears.. I shouldn't be getting it in the first place :Plol

Daughter was recently in hospital (all fine) and was prescribed some medication.  The hospital pharmacy didn't have it, nor did the 5 f**king others I visited.  Thankfully the in-store pharmacy at Asda Thurmaston delivered after I decided to just ring every chemist I could find on Google.  This has happened a few times now and it's maddening we get prescriptions for stuff that we can barely obtain.  Especially for hospital prescriptions, might be helpful to check if it's actually in stock as it's a fairly useless piece of paper without it.  Appreciate they can't stock everything, but for god sake check if it's in stock when it's a requirement to make my daughter be able to breath normally.

They are exactly the kind of people Tolkien would have despised, and they sully his memory.

The constant request for feedback.

I went the England game last night which to me, it's just a football game, a bit of an escape. Yet The FA, Tickets for good and Wembley have all emailed me asking how it was and to share my experience and feedback.

Surely people just get in touch if they feel they want to share something of importance?

I know it's only a few emails I can ignore and delete, it just makes things feel sterile.

I always drive to Tesco to sit and place my online food delivery order, it gets me in the mood, and if I forget what I need I can simply walk around the store to remind myself of what's available

But how else can they know if customer service etc is meeting expectations or not?
