Disappointing as Raducanu retires injured again. Was looking good against Ostapenko in the semi final though, taking the first set.

Shes like the Jack Wilshire of tennis.

Good prospect but always fecking injured!!

It’s weird as one of the most impressive things of her us open run was how well she dealt with it all physically, considering she hadn’t had experience of playing so many matches in quick succession like that before.

World team win Laver Cup.

Quite a comeback on day 3.

World won all 3 games.

Felix Auger-Aliassime beating Djokovic and Tsitsipas losing from set up against Tiafoe.

Probably needed a World win to keep the Laver Cup interest going.

I believe it's basically organised by a company Federer is involved in so now he is has stopped playing wonder if it will have the same interest - particularly if Nadal/Djokovic stop as well; at some point?

Having it in London probably helped this year as like with Wimbledon people will watch anyone but for example the next one is in Canada which might not have the same appeal.

I guess I should have been watching tennis this weekend instead of the World Cup!

Congratulations to the Canadian men on winning our first ever Davis Cup

Well done indeed.

What's changed with Canadian tennis? You seem to have a steady stream of talent coming through. And what happened with Raonic?

Raducanu injured again, leaving the court in tears apparently.

I mean at this point I assume she does her training at Seagrave.

I don’t mean on here, more so in general tennis social media groups, but I find it absolutely staggering the abuse that Emma Raducanu gets, saying she’s a one hit wonder with no fight, etc etc. She is only in her second full year as a professional and is comfortably inside the top 100. If we completely ignore the US open win, thst would be seen as really very good and promising progress. I still however can’t quite process how she managed to pull off that huge win in New York; including making her way through the qualifiers. Anyhow, it’s inevitable that as she moved to competing at a high level week in week out, plus all the travel that her body would suffer. This happens routinely on the challenger circuit, but again she’s a victim of her own success because she is in the spotlight on the main tour.

I am taking it a lot more personally than I should (!) but as someone who followed her progress as a teenager and watched via the LTA and her social media just how hard she worked alongside her studies, it upsets me to see how people talk about her now. Reading between the lines it seems part of the reason she was so upset when she retired was because of how hard she had trained during pre season to be able to prove the doubters wrong. It seems the negativity is getting to her now - why as a nation do we consistently put people on a pedestal only to seemingly take great pleasure in knocking them down again. I really am getting quite fed up of this country

I suspect most of the criticism is from general sports fans or even non sport fans who see her winning once and think Radacanu ought to be doing it again ASAP.

I have seen plenty of it on dedicated tennis pages as well. I am not sure why it winds me up quite as much as it does, but hey!

Nearly Aus open time! Who is everyone backing? Sounds like Novak is struggling a bit with fitness at the moment. Intrigued to see if Jack Draper can pull of anything against Rafa tomorrow (who similarly doesn't seem quite 100% yet). Got a feeling we will have a new champion, but not sure who.

Goodness knows with the women! Last I knew from Iga she was crying having lost a match.

Looks like being the predictable results so far for the Brits.

Draper putting up some fight taking a set v Nadal but losing in 4.

Emma Radacanu through though.

Shame Kyle Edmunds career has basically been ruined by injury after looking promising for a year or two.

Nick Kyrgios being anything but as he pulled out the home tournament hours before playing with a knee injury .

Have to give Murray for continually putting himself through this when he does the really have to. Even if he gets through the chances of him being able to go again are low.

Murray showing he's still got the goods here, at least in a one off match. I hope he can close it out.

What a match!

And his rather proud record of only ever losing one match from two sets up (and that was the third five set match he ever played, back in 2005) remains intact.

All that on a bionic hip.

Tremendous.

I thought I had cursed him. I set my alarm for 5 so I could hopefully watch from third set onwards. At that point he was up 6-3 6-3. Promptly gets broken and loses two sets. Thankfully he turned it round!
