Unbelievable, now even the sporting events 10 minute’s down the road I end up staying awake until 4 am for.

Brilliant tennis tonight from both players and a cracking atmosphere for a game that finished so late/early!

I'm not the greatest tennis fan, but that match summed all why we all love sport.

Tension, drama, desire...

Just unreal for a bloke who's had an awful 3/4 years with injury.

I'm knackered just from watching the last set.

Murray has taken some serious stick from people throughout his whole career, but what a guy.

It's remarkable he's won as much as he has considering he was unlucky enough to be born in the same era as the three greatest players ever to pick up a racquet.

Is there a sportsperson out there with as much determination as Andy Murray? When the dust settles on this era of tennis, people will debate the greatest player, but I'm not sure there'll be much debate needed about the most determined. Not just in matches, his defensive play is ridiculous, but just his career in general. He's clearly a talented player, but he has pushed himself to the maximum to win what he's won and reach world number 1 in an era where he's played alongside 3 of the best ever. Only male player to win 2 gold medals and only player to defend the single title and one of only 10 male players to reach all 4 slam finals. Imo he's definitely in the top 10 players of all time on talent, but moments like today stand him alone when it comes to fighting spirit.

Murray is a legend. I've always liked him even in his bratty younger days, but im so pleased he turned the tide of public opinion towards him so that he is pretty much universally respected by everyone now.

He looked fitter than he has done in ages. It was only a few months ago he was cramping in the 2nd round of best of 3 tournaments.

It is a blessing and a curse he was born in this era. He would have had at least 6-8 slams other I think, but it must also be a privilege to have played in the same era as the 3 greatest players of modern times.

Chalk up another legendary performance from Murray. So great to see him raging against the dying of the light.

As others have touched on, it does make one rather wistful about what he might have achieved if a.) he'd not been playing at the same time as the greatest three players of all time and b.) injury had not become a blight at the exact time (2016-17) when he was better than all of them and looked set to dominate.

But the man is still likely Britains greatest sportsman in an individual sport, and it's been great to follow his success.

Additionally, he now has 11 comeback victories from two sets down, the most of any player in the Open Era. And (after a little digging) I found that he is 11-3 when he's pulled it back to 2 sets all in such situations.

Playing some unbelievable tennis again tonight, can see this going to 5 again. Just hope it’s finished before the Leicester game starts!

Wasn’t to be .

Put up a good fight though against a strong competitor.

Djokovic making it look very easy considering he is meant to be injured !

BTW where have all the Americans come from ?

If an Eastern European or Asian nation was suddenly producing players like the US have out of nowhere, one would have to suspect doping.

Really hoping Tsitsipas can go on and win it now.
