Pleased someone understands, although I just think that Raj wants to be awkward. ^_^

He always does :D

I'm off too night lads.

That's what I understood it to mean, not necessarily specifically Newcastle but that was a name used to put the point across

Agreed, and the same would go for any player at the club.

I don't want him to go but you can't stand in his way if a prem team wanted him.

Same as cambridge didn't with Morrison who had signed a 2 year deal 4 months before moving here.

Just hope he doesn't become the best player to have never played for leicester.

The guy we have in charge now seems to have a level head on his shoulders unlike the 2 guys who were managers when Max had his future decided before so hopefully that we help the situation.

This thread is embarrassing. However, there have been Premiership and Championship clubs take a look at Gradel. If anyone doesn't believe that then they are naive. That doesn't mean they are going to sign him though. Wise is rumoured to be trying to recruit young players for Newcastle to develop, they were meant to be signing Gradel's team mate Sam Vokes but they didn't.

If they did make an offer and he went, then he'd have a tough task ahead of him to get in to the first team for a year or two. But I have no doubt that he's not got the ability to play in the Premiership at some point. I'm not worried about him leaving yet though.

Er, yes there was.

Bournemouth were in administration for half the season, therefore they shouldn't have had players on loan in the first place.

We could have requested Gradel back at ANY stage, but Holloway, for reasons only he can explain, chose not to do so.

No we couldn't, Knowitall, who does seem to know it all said in previous threads that there was no call back clause.

I believe him.

Thats what I thought as well.

But then again Dennis Wise is on that director role at st james's and the fact he managed at the level Max played may be all to aware of Maxi potential

And they were linked with Sam Vokes last season before he joined Wolves so they would have seen him play at Bournemouth.

That might be true, but what Ultra's told you is that Bournemouth couldn't actually pay his wages. They didn't keep up their end of the contract, so we could have had him back at any point despite that, but didn't.

:) How was it? Will Smith only does decent films really so I'm looking forward to seeing it myself.

You obviously haven't seen 'Wild wild west' or 'I Robot'.

I hope Gradel doesn't hurt himself too much when he falls off the pedestal he's been plopped on.

Ronaldo's coped and his pedestal is a skyscraper compared to Gradel's. :D

I wasnt in the slightest suggesting you didnt meet him pal,i just found it funny how even he(Im sure!) was probably taking the piss out of himself being signed by Newcastle! :D ....unless he actually DOES think they'll come in for him,in which cas he should be sectioned along with Gazza!!!!

I don't see why it wouldn't definately happen though. They bid between 1 and 2million and could probably sell him on to a championship or lower league prem club in 2 or 3 years for 3 or 4 million.

I think that's the least of his worries. Outside of Foxestalk, I don't think there are many City fans who have the faintest idea who he is. Unless they've all been reading my article on him from a few weeks back. Wouldn't surprise me. :D

You are forgetting how massive we are - don't worry, it's a common mistake. We are so huge that I'll bet most daily papers carry regular stories about Maxi...I don't know for sure as it has been an awful long time since I bought one, but I bet it's true.

.. don't be fooled, in the League we're now in plenty know who Gradel is. They've watched him destroy their teams defence over the past season and whilst the Cherries played relatively poorly in the first two thirds of last season he and a very small handful of other youngsters almost swung Bournemouths season around. At Dean Court (Bournemouth - now the fitness first stadium!!) during last seasons Bournemouth v Yeovil game Gradel kept tearing Yeovils defence to shreds, it was his ball into the danger area that led to Danny Holland scoring their first goal (all in the first 10 minutes!) they beat Yeovil 2-0. The earlier game at Huish Park (Dec I think it was) Max was one of the few shining rays of light for a very poor Cherries side, even so they only went down by 1 goal (2-1 final score). Very distinct playing style and quick with it he got noticed all right!

So the 'meat' of this post is Gradel can certainly excel at this level of football, and would do went to stay at City if only to really sharpen those skills and put himself firmly in the shop window .. at Newcastle, he'd be a bit part player at very best and I expect would evn make the bench for the majority of the season (a sure way to get lost in footballs 'traffic')

Its more that people who focus on being a "big club" and writing in daft letters to the Mercury are unlikely to have noticed what he's been up to down here, so the fans of other teams in the league will probably know far more about him than a lot of Leicester fans.
