Bert Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I was gutted when he left. He's moved on and so should we now. Criticism may be a bit harsh but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would never boo him if he played us, and I believe that he's someone our club could do with right now.

dandannieldanok Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 No, he left because Leicester couldn't really reject an offer of £1.2 million, it's a lot of money. He left because he wanted to, of course an extra £1.2m is very welcome but the club could have rejected the offer without any financial implications.
Simi Posted 30 October 2008 Author Posted 30 October 2008 Ok, maybe not a hero - maybe that's one step too far but a fans favourite for sure. That's why people get on the backs of the likes of Howard, Berbatov, etc at times but will never get on the back of a Tevez or Hume because they will never give up and keep fighting til the end. That is a TRUE player and what makes a hero. Steve Walsh, Elliott, Muzzy, they always gave their best and always succeeded as did Hume. Anyway, who's going to stop him from talking about his old club. The club that cherished him and was the best of a bad bunch for 2/3 years but he still stuck with us. That's more like it. Fans will always like players who give 100% because it's so obvious when they do it. Other players play a part in the team in different ways and I'm sure many fans struggle to realise this when they see Howard fail to charge down the keeper from thirty yards.
Matt Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Hume was also our top scorer for 3 consecutive seasons and without his goals we would have been relegated a couple of years ago. He always gave 100% and that's why he gained hero status at City. Best of a bad bunch? What "competition" did he really have for 3 consecutive seasons?
SamL Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 No, he left because Leicester couldn't really reject an offer of £1.2 million, it's a lot of money. So, tell me, when everyone was shouting HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME - you never said anything? I'm not saying I never shouted "Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuumeeeeee". My point was that I wouldn't compare him to 'real' Leicester Heroes such as Walsh etc.
syston_fox Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I was gutted when he left. He's moved on and so should we now. Criticism may be a bit harsh but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would never boo him if he played us, and I believe that he's someone our club could do with right now. I agree that booing him would be harsh. He's not a hero or legend though, just another in a long list of players who have been and gone without leaving much of a favourable impact on the club. I remember him more for the "Huuuuuuuume" from the fans rather than the guy on the pitch which says it all really.

I remember him more for the "Huuuuuuuume" from the fans rather than the guy on the pitch which says it all really. That's it exactly. And he's hardly pulling up trees at Barnsley is he? We're better off without. He's no better than in a team in the lower reaches of the championship.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Hume said what about Andrew Sachs grandaughter??? No wait, wrong thread, same outrage!

Maybes Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Hume said what about Andrew Sachs grandaughter??? No wait, wrong thread, same outrage! Nice sig. A tad big all the same.
Corky Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I don't know about you lot, but I certainly would not boo him next time we face the dingles. I wouldn't boo him or cheer him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 Iain Hume. Thank the Lord we no longer have to listen to his mystriously terrifying Scot-Canadian hybrid accent.
Sods Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 Get lost Hume. You played your part in taking us down, then went to Barnsley.
Ric Flair Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 Would still have him back here in a heartbeat. He'd be hot and spicy at this level.
Master Fox Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 But Iain Hume is still the son of God, right? He's probably the only player in our squad good enough to play in the premier league Oh wait....just a second..... deep breath HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****
Ric Flair Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 Idiot. I must admit, I have no idea how this article has came about. Has Hume decided to ring Anderson up after reading in the paper that the 'partizan' crowd were unhappy or The Mercury have been struggling for gigs so have driven to the arse end of the country to get an exclusive with a lad who let's face it, hoodwinked a lot of goobers here.

That, but he should have had the good sense to say no comment however I wish them all the best, but that would be a boring story and not a further excuse to slag off the fans.

Koke Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 I agree with Ric. I'd have Hume back in a heartbeat.
Salieri Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 I agree with Ric.I'd have Hume back in a heartbeat. Me too, and maybe then we could play him in his preferred (i.e natural) position up front and not on the bloody wing!
