Ollie93 Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 Just can't see this working throwing three random people together who barely know each other, think I'll just wait for the inevitable program Clarkson, Hammond and May end up doing instead I read somewhere they are making a series for Netflix, not sure how credible that is though.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 imagine if Clarkson is one of the star's in the reasonably priced car
yorkie1999 Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 I read somewhere they are making a series for Netflix, not sure how credible that is though. I heard they were making a series with sky funding and are currently filming in south africa.
Merging Cultures Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 I heard they were making a series with sky funding and are currently filming in south africa.I've not seen them....
Jimothy Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 I've not seen them.... Probably more likely to hear them.
Merging Cultures Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 Probably more likely to hear them.I'll have a listen.
Merging Cultures Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 BTW great time of year to be done here if they are. Snow in the mountains and lovely warm sunshine during the day.
Fox92 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 James May drives on http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/entertainment-arts-32939293?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=[James%20May%20drives%20on%2609:44]&ns_fee=0#post_33197714
pSinatra Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Chris Evans may be a car fanatic but I don't think I'll bother. Will probably watch one or two just to see how bad it is & to see if Evans has turned it into a game show. That TFI last week was just awful & I can't see Top Gear being any better.......just Evans promoting his own massive ginger ego. His co-presenters will probably be Danny Baker & that turd Will.
Jimothy Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/entertainment-arts-32939293?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=[James%20May%20drives%20on%2609:44]&ns_fee=0#post_33197714 He's done car history related stuff for the BBC before without the other two, so it's no massive shock. Thing to remember is none of them were sacked by the BBC, they just didn't have their Top Gear contracts renewed. They can all still come back to the BBC whenever.

I've watched some of his history related stuff. It is interesting for about 15mins and then it is repetitive. I watched one last night about French people's cars. He tried to spice it up by shooting a renault 4 and 2cv that had been 'militarized'. It was unnecessary, silly and boring. I like the 'Toys' and wine related shows he has done.

Bit Top Gear like I guess in the sense he had a challenge to make a giant thing out of a each toy, like a house of Lego, or a toy train track over many miles. I enjoyed watching that. The wine thing was fun in that you were hoping one of him, or his co-presenter would kill the other as they seem to grind each others gears all the time.
MPH Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 err, I think you'll find I get some props for calling this too. I'll let you blow your own trumpet....

Er, did you miss those episodes with the big curly haired Tory lad in it? He had/has a bit of an ego...
yorkie1999 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 It's going to be fvckin stupid if TFI Fridays anything to go by. I just watched Chris Evans' mum trying to set a lap round the top gear test track in a motorized wheelchair with Lewis Hamilton trying to make witty comments. It's so obvious its been set up for Clarkson to walk away from the BBC with the massive pay out he received from selling the top gear rights 3 years ago for 8 million.
Nick Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Gonna be interesting to see the format which they adopt for the new show. Reproducing the chemistry will be tough and not making a fifth gear type analysis of generic motors will be essential to survival.
Carl the Llama Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Did I see that right? They just advertised Top Gear airing tomorrow on BBC2 at 8pm, I feel like I've missed something here...
AKCJ Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Did I see that right? They just advertised Top Gear airing tomorrow on BBC2 at 8pm, I feel like I've missed something here... They're using the footage from the unseen episodes to make a special. Basically the Beeb are starting to realise what they've done. They've lost one of the most watched British television show, it'll never be the same again.

They can't exactly go around spreading the message that as long as you're popular enough it's ok to assault people. Looking forward to seeing some of what they'd put together before it all went pear shaped though, great news.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Will Lineker finally be the star in the reasonably priced car?
Jimothy Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Will Lineker finally be the star in the reasonably priced car? No studio stuff tonight, just videos and Clarkson doing a voiceover.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Kinda wish I hadn't watched that, reminded me how entertaining the stupid adventures are and they possibly won't happen again. Damnit
Larry_LCFC Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Brilliant. Really enjoyed that. Absolutely gutted the BBC has killed it. Evans can fvck off! End of an era.
StanSP Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 So there won't be any challenges/adventures any more? I know the 3 won't be there, but will Evans & Co not do them either?
