Max Gradel

The problem is that most wingers like Gradel have as many off days as they do on days which is why opinion is so divided on him. He does however possess the one thing that no other player has in abundance at Leicester and that is flair and the ability to do something sublime.

I for one would rather see excitement than monotonous boring hoofball but while we are winning more than we are losing there is little chance of us playing expansive football in the near future. I hope he gets the chance but doubt that will be the case.

Let's keep Ryan Smith out of this shall we!

Nail on head.

We have developed a reliance on a pedestrian 4-4-2 longball game which I am beginning to find very hard to watch. We lump the ball forward and it falls to one of our players or it does not. Sometimes, not very often, when it does we score a goal.

Most of the time the longball is simply the quickest way to give the ball back to our opponents. With all the possession we give away it is hardly surprising we are under pressure a lot of the time.

Our defence and midfield are pushed deep, further encouraging the long ball from the back, our strikers are more and more isolated and we are well and truly fooked.

Still, just off the playoffs (somehow) with a game in hand means that little will change anytime soon.

You can not argue with results...

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has welcomed Max Gradel back into the fold.

Gradel has returned to the City squad after his three-month loan spell with Leeds United elapsed, and Pearson said he was glad to have the 22-year-old back.

Gradel had wanted to stay at Elland Road until the end of the season and Leeds boss Simon Grayson has not given up on convincing Pearson to allow the Ivorian to return. Gradel had joined the League One side on an emergency loan which had reached the maximum period allowed, 93 days.

"He cannot return on another short-term loan and would have to join Leeds until the end of the season, or on a permanent deal.

"Talks are ongoing," said Grayson. "He's Leicester's player, they were good enough to let him come here for a period, and we're talking with them.

"We're looking to see if something can be done, whether that be an end-of-season loan or a permanent I don't know.''

However, Pearson has stated he is not willing to sell Gradel.

While it is possible the former academy star could go back to Leeds, Pearson said he was happy to have Gradel back in his squad ahead of tomorrow's trip to Cardiff City for the FA Cup fourth round tie.

"He is back and I am pleased to have him back," he said.

"He hasn't been playing. There seems to be this misconception that he has been playing every week, but he has been on the bench.

"I am pleased to have him back, if I am honest. I like him and I think he has potential.''

Disappointing..... I fear the curse of the agent has struck.

I wish him well still

Don't blame him for a second - we've done nothing to give him hope of playing full time for us.

Au revoir, Max.

Pearson's restrictive tactics meant he was never going to fit in, he is a rare player that can change the game on his own, we should do our best to convince him to stay or at the very least sell for the most money possible, he has a long time to go on his current contract so there's no rush

So he's handed in a transfer request to go and sit on the bench at Leeds.

After NFP has said that he likes him and thinks he has potential.

After the support the club gave him during all his family problems.

And as for all of this @I don't blame him, we don't play him' bollocks.

Well he wasn't that great last season in Division 3 as he still has a lot to learn, hence NFP sending him on loan to Leeds (who also don't rate him high enough to let him actually start a game regularly).

I think he's a fooking idiot.

I hope he has a successful career but to be honest I don't think he'll ever play Premiership football.

so you think he should stay and hardly ever play first team football to keep a few city fans happy?

Well he's only started two games at Leeds... and if anyone says it was a plan to keep his price down you'll get a slap.

I was never Gradel's biggest admirer but I just don't see the sense in excluding him from our squad enough to make him want to leave to make way for players like Nolberto Solano.

Because Gradel will do nothing at this level, whereas Solano could be that missing ingredient (with Taylor as well I hope).

And how was he excluded, NFP has brought him back when Leeds wanted to extend the loan, NFP has also said that he likes him and thinks he has potential. There is no way that Gradel warrants a regular start with a team in the higher reaches of The Championship, he can only warm the bench and come on as an impact sub for a third division side.

The likes of Solano are coming in because otherwise we are too dependant on players who were successful in the third division but are still way short of handling The Championship on a weekly basis, and it shows.

How do you know Gradel will do nothing at this level? Do you have a crystal ball? As for Solano being the missing ingredient, then you must have a completely different view to me as to what the missing ingredient is.

We brought him back because they had used all there loans up on him didn't we, it's got to the stage where it's buy or nothing. He was excluded from the start of the season, having contributed to our promotion he got completely left out of squads in favour of League 2 man Dany N'Guessan and League 2 man Nicky Adams. He wasn't given one sodding chance.

"We are too dependant on players who were successful in the third division but are still way short of handling The Championship on a weekly basis, and it shows." : Yes it does show, how does 7th place grab you?
