Been seeing videos of Elton live recently, had to play Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Funeral For A Friend contention for the best opener of an album surely.

Listened to both recently and think I preferred Weekend in the City. Maybe I've just overplayed Silent Alarrm over the years.

 

Buzzing to see them next month (see the Gigs thread), even without it being the original line-up. Sold out in under five minutes so I got lucky!

Saw them in April supporting Paramore and still very good, the new drummer is great.

Love this album and reminds me of great times round Brum when these came out at the same time as Jaws, Peace and others.

 

Did you ever come across Troumaca? They unfortunately only lasted 1 album as the bassist tragically passed away. But they were brilliant!

Came to Warren Zevon relatively quite late, but he's a superb lyricist and this is such a listenable album despite being pretty dark in places.
