Corky Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Bruno should get his opportunity then. I've been saying he looks past his best but he'll have my full support and I hope he proves me wrong.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 What an unlikely result but for all that, to our credit, we mostly scrapped and battled from the first, we were still so wasteful. Times we fail to even get the ball on target from 1 v 1 situations and it just shows a lack of ruthlessness. That said well done Richie Wellens for leading by example and taking Alan Young's Man of the Match decision from midfield. Well done Darius Vassell for taking the vital chance so brilliantly with a volley in off the post. Well done Hobbs and Morrison for their efforts in helping us to a clean sheet. Praise is also due to Weale for restoring some sanity between our posts to Bruno for staying solid after the sickening injury to Cunningham (all the very best to that lad for a full recovery). Waghorn too sounded as if he put himself about when taking over from Vassell and the three points today give us one more than I expected us to take from the four game leading up to Monday's match with Swansea. It's heartening, definitely an exc llent result in the circumstances and something that I hope, at long last, gives us an attitude of mind to build on. Roll on Monday and hopefully there will not be an adverse reaction to all the effort and emotion that would have gone into today's game. .
arch stanton Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Finally a win, away win & clean sheet all in one. Sounded really solid as well, they had hardly any chances (was listening to Radio Hull's commentary as well) Pleased to see that in the latter stages when we could have been backs to the wall we had Morrison, Hobbs & Berner (our own players) holding firm hopefully Cunningham is OK though sounds as though Cunningham has broken his leg so hopefully Sven will now reassure Bruno he has his place back & get some stability back in the defence. great result but have to say HULL were absolute crap.
ibbosuk Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 where are all the doubters now hey?? fickle bastards MASSIVE 3 POINTS !! Hey its........... ONE WIN...................Calm down...........................Though we are unbeaten away this year........ BAD NEWS>>>> Cunningham has broken his leg (Radio Leic)
MikeyT Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Greg Cunningham has a broken leg. Just been reported by Stringer on BBC Radio Leicester.
foxfan13 Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Don't think Davies was ever staying. We were his shop window
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 we can beat Swansea, bt I just hope if we do people dont start getting carried away yet again. We're in a good healthy position but we have played more games than a lot of teams and we could soon find ourselves down near the bottom again. Millwall have picked up 7 points from 9 games and are suddenly in the Playoffs. Before we played them we were level with them. We need to do something similar, go on a unbeaten run. Cunningham has a broken leg. Not good news at all, will need more cover for left back now. We probably wont see him again any time soon so lets hope he makes a full recovery.
Daggers Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 A win? Cue: ridiculous over-optimism about automatic promotion until the next defeat.
The Doctor Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 christ . Get well soon cunningham. Only real disappointment from today, good performance by the sounds of things.
lestajigs Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 where are all the doubters now hey?? fickle bastards MASSIVE 3 POINTS !! What u on with, so who ain't been pissed off with our away form prior to this?????? Stop bringing up shit, and enjoy the win!! Well done lads
Guest Bilo Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Bad news about Cunningham, hope he can recover well. As for the game, sounded a good performance and an unexpected win. Hopefully we can get a positive result on Monday as well and build up a bit of a run.
Corky Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 So gutted for the lad, hopes he makes a quick recovery.
Swalker Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 we can beat Swansea, bt I just hope if we do people dont start getting carried away yet again. Yes I agree we shouldn't get carried away but getting carried away and being optimistic is surely healthier than everyone being criticial of the team when they lose just one or two games. But if you want to hear the critical comments there is always the Radio Leicester phone in
foxfan13 Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Terrible news for Cunningham. Chance for Berner, which is the only silver lining to that cloud
sdb Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Did not see us winning today. Great result. Get well soon Cunningham. 3 points is a great start to the year but the real challenge is following it through on Monday. Consistency is the wish for 2011.
Anish Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Great start to the new year. Well done Sven and the boys. Finally we kept a clean sheet away from home, although it sounded like we should've made the game more comfortable after missing chances again. Let's not get carried away though, Swansea will be a tough game.
Bert Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Great performance and a well deserved win. Feel so sorry for cunningham. It was an awful tackle and he knew straightaway he was done for. You could tell by the players reactions too. Thought morrison was our best player today, but they all need big credit for a great performance.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Greg Cunningham has a broken leg. Just been reported by Stringer on BBC Radio Leicester. Sad to hear confirmation but we were all lead to believe it was a fracture of some sort. The last thing you want to hear happening to anyone but especially for someone so young and with seemingly so much ahead of him.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Good win, lets just hope we don't fvck up on monday!
Bryn Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 What an absolutely vile tackle that was, truly disgraceful. It looked a considered tackle to me as well, he seemed fooked off that we hadn't put the ball out of play. Should be banned for as long as Cunningham is injured.
hackneyfox Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 I don't see the injury as being a chance for Berner, Sven clearly doesn't rate him, Cunningham was nevr going to sign anyway. Sven will hopefully be looking for a new permanent Left Back and 2 centre halfs and I'd still sell Morrison, too many fook ups this season to keep him because he's had one decent game.
