There's a burning smell coming from the tumble dryer (condenser) any chance this is something simple or is it dead?

50/50. I've had that happen before and my drier was fine for two years more. Someone I know had it happen and their drier was knackered. GOOD LUCK.

Got a fvcking speeding ticket in the post today - £100 fine and three points on my license, or attend a 'speed awareness' course.

Seems like a no-brainer. Has anyone done one?

I have. It was the longest 3 hours of my life. And think they've increased it to 4 hours since I did mine.

Take the points.

So basically you're being paid £25/h not to get a point on your licence. No brainer.

Not quite - I think you have to pay for the course.

But, yeah, no-brainer.

For any musical experts.

At the TRJFP the other Saturday they do an open mic session and they have a box of instruments. Tambolines rattle things etc. One was something I had never seen.

II think it would be hard to google. I will try and describe with metal

It is a xylophone type thing with metal strips. It is played by plucking the metal strips with the tips of your fingers and bending them thus making a sound. Where it is from I a or Eastern Europe.m not sur. Could be African West Indian. I realise the description is a little vague but with many of you being more world travelled or live in other countries thought it was worth a shot I thought it was worth a shot.

Yep. 4 hours. I got done for speeding back in November and did the course in January.

The course is boring, but I'd rather that than an 'unclean' license. I just can't get caught speeding again in the next 2 years cos then I don't have the option of the course again lol

I've done the course twice about 6 years apart. It really is tedious , better than 3 points though.

Being told about speed limits for different roads and vehicles, you do a hazard perception thing as a group. And in the one i was in, you get shown a video on breaking/thinking distances by Tiff Needell....

Getting into small groups discussing why people speed, asking what some road signs/ speed limits are. You do get a free copy of the highway code though.

Found out what it may be. A mriba an African instrument and a part of the piano familiy in instrument terms. There are some that have a base of a coconut shell. They come in various notes from 6-10. Surprised at how many there are on Ebay. Range from £8 upwards for the most exotic ones.

Sitting in a room with 19 pensioners who have no idea of why they are there.

One thought the national speed limit for cars on an unlit dual carriageway was 30 mph!!!

Yeah I was surprised how many old people there were, also the fact that nobody there seemed able to admit any wrongdoing.

Mate of mine did the speeding awareness course in Lincoln once, and they wheeled in a dude in a chair who had been put there by a speeding driver, major guilt trip tactic I guess.

He then left the course rang me to tell me and got pulled on his mobile phone for not using hands free!!!  :/

Does the 2 year rule apply nationwide, sure there used to be a get out clause, where by if you got caught by a different force you could do it again, under that region.

Is there any way of blocking someone completely, so you don't even see their posts quoted in another post?

Thanks.

It appears that the answer is 'no, not yet'.

I guess I'll just have to put up with the tosser for the time being.

I'm filling out an application form for Reed (the recruitment firm) so I can start a job I've got through them.

One of the standard questions is for my 'bank address and postcode'

What should I put for this, as I set up my account online and haven't been to a branch?

Cheers
