I find morning people are often very judgemental if you're not a morning person. We've people working on the house this week, arriving at 8am, it's been a challenge. And they're going to be working Saturday. I made a comment to someone about the early starts and got a right earful. I find the implication that I'm lazy just because I don't choose to be up at the crack of dawn uncalled for.

If you are paying these people, I might be inclined to tell them what time to start!   I have OCD, so also struggle with early starts. I find it all so disruptive.

Have anyone bought a refurbished TV before?  My three years old decided my TV would make a good racetrack and have damaged it.   Was thinking I would be better off buying a refurbished TV for few years until my boys get more older

Is @Webbo a secret moderator?

Noticed on 2 occasions that he had posted on recently, the thread gets locked fairly soon after..

Apologies if you're not.

Has anybody had any dealings with a 'no win no fee' solicitor? Looked at a few and they all look pretty much the same, as in call us on xyz or fill in this form and we will call you back. Very few of them tell you their fees should you win your claim. I only seen this on one website and that was 20% + Vat, is this pretty much a standard rate? All I want to know for now is do I have a case and if so is it worth pursuing. Also I have no idea how long these things take if It does go ahead.

Anything I can do to stop dogs peeing on something? I've got 2 planters outside my shop on quite a busy street and one of the planters has become an unofficial pissing post for evey single dog that walks down the street. Wouldn't particulalry both me if it was the odd dog here and there but it's leaving a constant mess and is killing the plants.

Put a sign up saying “dogs, please don’t pee here” that’s what I’ve noticed shops do

Electricity and water make a reasonable deterrent

One for our US foxes - I’ve been watching a load of American cop cam videos on YouTube and whenever they’ve pulled over a suspected drunk driver, rather than spending 20 seconds doing a breathaliser to see if they’re over the limit, they spend 30 minutes walking someone back and forth, touching their nose and following a pen light with their eyes on a very arbitrary field sobriety test on the side by the road to see if their sober. Why so convoluted?

Another USA one. Why do our trucks look so shit compared to American ones.

Murican professional drivers need bigger trucks because they murder more sex workers. The average Murican professional driver has six dead sex workers in his cab, while the Brit has a pathetic 0.27 dead sex workers.

The cab over design is more maneuverable, which makes it more practical for our smaller roads. There are some better looking ones than the one you picked lol

And more aerodynamic, cos in Europe we give a damn about efficiency.

Rednecks love trucks :P

But the first pic is an unfair comparison. There are some fantastic looking, big, customised British trucks.

The UK regs on truck length inhibits the use of the likes of Kenworth's tractor units, the whole combo of unit and trailer can't be longer than Gov regs so hauliers generally go for longer trailers and shorter cab units for obvious reasons.

Yes. Cab over engine suits our roads.

The first pic is a rigid, BTW, the American one is clearly an Artic (NOT ARCTIC ) or, as they call them, semi's. Maybe because the drivers have one as they haul along the Murican Haahways, y'all.

Exactly, also makes it easier for them to get right up the chuff of your car.

Why does the passport no longer contain a section for distinguishing features?

I was going to add my tattoo and rapier-like dry with, but no.

Some Brexit benefit that is if the colour changes but we lose distinguishing features.

Anyone else experienced their kids suddenly turning up in their bed in the middle of the night? Pretty sure it’s common but ours had never done it, until about a month ago he wakes up between 1-3am and comes into our bed, usually back to sleep but sometimes doesn’t and is up for the day.

Any tips to reverse this ?
