MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 There's an irony in the whole story that makes me smirk in a way - not that I wish any injury on a player like Mattock, but he literally brought it onto himself (catching the studs in the grass). Somewhere, two girls with disco/club experience will be laughing their ass off. Get well soon Joe, just don't do it again.
lestajigs Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 honestly.... i served with some right ***** in the army and i also saw alot of them loose limbs you lot are sick. just because he left leicester to progress his carrer that makes him a bad person... yesh he punched a woman ... nothing can defend that but seriously have some fooking respect no1 deserves carrer threatening injurys.. Ok mrs mattock
tomtom Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Instant Karma's gonna get you, knock you right on the head (or knee) you better get yourself together, pretty soon your gonna be dead
ta-fc Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 from personal experience I know of six or seven occasions where Mattock (and his dad for that matter) have been involved in 'altercations' in Leicester Centre and on more than once the club has hushed them up... Pearson has had to apologise on his behalf before. The fighting thing outside Envy wasn't a one off... On this basis some people really don't deserve to represent our club, so shed no tears when he left. Karma's a b!tch ain't it!

Finnegan Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Wouldn't have booed but I don't give a fuck. I don't genuinely like to judge "famous" people purely by their media image but it's somewhat clear the lad's a complete weapon, I'm not going to shed a tear for him. If it was life or career threatening then fair enough but he'll be back for the start of next year.
Simmo86 Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Get no sympathy from me. Coont of the highest order, who will go back to his bags full of money, nice car and nice house! He'll get some of the best treatment in the world and then the overated twat will be back to pursue his career in the lower leagues. Karma's a bitch!
teblin Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Don't like to see anybody injured to be fair. Not a nice sight at all. He's a young man who's made some mistakes in his life (as have we all, not to his extent granted) but everyone should have a 2nd chance shouldn't they? Having said that, as has already been said life does have a nasty habit of catching up with you.
Fox92 Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Ok, I booed his name when it was read out, but I didn't boo when he was taken off - I clapped just like when any other player gets taken off. He left the club and obviously I don't like that, but its not nice to see a player get injured - ecspecially, a upcoming one. He was never a bad player. And, still isn't. In the matchday programme he has said that he wants to come back to Leicester one day because he supports them. And, when he doesn't play he comes down to the Walkers and looks for the result.
sdb Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Hard to say when I wasn't at the game and immersed in the emotions of the match, but I'd like to think I'd have reacted differently to the situation. The bloke is a moron, there's no 2 ways about it. Everything we see and hear about him says so. But to cheer a player getting seriously injured is about as low as it can get imo. If I drive past a car crash in a minute and see it's someone I don't like, do I beep my horn and cheer and wave? It doesn't hold the club in a good light. I'd think the injury in itself is more than he deserves (if it's as bad as has been suggested). Be happy with that if you must, don't bring the name of our club down with him. I'll go hide under a rock to avoid the battering I suspect i'll now receive.
CosbehFox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Scummy fans who did that once he was injured are no better than el hadji diouf having a go at the QPR player with a broken leg. Neil Warnock would call them all lower than a sewer rat. I'm going to call them scumbag cvnts Agreed. However, I find the term 'career ending' odd. He's made a tidy sum out of football (plus the insurance money should he retire), if he has the belief he'll find another career if he has to retire.
Fosse Boy Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Who gives a fvck. Anyone who wastes their life feeling any sympathy whatsoever for an absolute willy puller who earns more in month than you do in e year is fvcking pudding. Hang on a sec, there are people that have said tonight (not saying on here necessarily) that he might have played his last game of football ever. Why should I care? I've never played a game of professional football, does anyone sympathise with me? No. But if I had been in his shoes 2 years ago I would have shown the Club a lot more respect than he did. And furthermore I wouldn't have beat a woman up. That man doesn't deserve to play professional football, so if he never does again it will be his just desserts, and if I may say so, karma. Yes I laughed, and no I have no sympathy. He'll live, but hopefully he won't get to play the game that many of us would give anything to play professionally. Both nailed it. What's with all these Blades fans holding all the moral high ground anyway? Sure they're always full of tea and sympathy if a Wednesday player goes down in the derby...
Houdini Logic Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Have people not got more to worry aobut in their life than Joe Mattock?
Babylon Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Doubt he cared about the woman he beat up either. You make it sound like he beat up some poor innocent granny in the street. Some low life chav decides to give him a load of verbals and gets one slap from him, the person on the receiving end is hardly all sweetness and light are they? His comments when he left weren't exactly smart, most players try to respect their old clubs. But he was a 17 year old lad and he's the sharpest knife in the draw, besides what did he say that wasn't true at the time? West brom had just come down from the premier and were known for their good football, we'd been relegated and were crap. Reading your post on here saying you missed "the best moment of the night" referring to him being injured means you are no better than the person you are castigating, in fact I'd say you are worse. People seem to be getting real joy from it, I think people seriously need to look at themselves if that's the case. Not surprising though that it's all the people who have previously come across as having about 3 brain cells floating around in their skull.
hackneyfox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 A dignified silence may have been best. I wouldn't give applause to Mattock, Marlon King or Lee Hughes but I wouldn't boo them off after an injury.
stix Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Both nailed it. What's with all these Blades fans holding all the moral high ground anyway? Sure they're always full of tea and sympathy if a Wednesday player goes down in the derby... After looking on a few blades forums this morning it seems to me that they are no better than any leicester fan that boo'd mattock at bramall lane lastnight anyway..... Laughing and jeering at the fact that someones windows were smashed in on their car and suggesting that it would be funny if some of you lot died in car crashes on the way home?! Pretty damn hypocritical if you ask me. Wishing someone dead for booing one of their players! Give me a break!(no pun intended!) http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=463&fid=221&sty=2&act=1&mid=2118550771

Spudulike Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 It's never nice to see a player get injured that badly, doesn't matter who it is Dennis Wise ??

It's the snide way he went about arranging the move (going behind the manager's back etc) which really annoys many of us. As for his injury, no sympathy whatsoever. If he'd been in jail, as he should be, it wouldn't have happened. End of.

I have played long enough to see close up some horrible injuries (and 1 death). I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone.
The Padster Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 yesh he punched a woman ... nothing can defend that but seriously have some fooking respect Mattock lost all respect when he took a swing at a woman. Disgraceful. But still even after his disrespectful behaviour towards the club and the people of this city I do not wish ill upon him (well, maybe a swift drop down to league 2, but not an injury).
