Yakubu

Yakubu: 949 mins, 4 goals

Fryatt: 655 mins, 4 goals.

Read into that what you will.

I shall just do that.

I agree with the notion that Yakubu has been playing rather poorly in the past four to five games.

But... What if he scores in the next game and Fryatt fails to do so? Would you still come up with the same comparison?

Yakubu's current goal-per-game average (4 in 11) is on par with his record at Middlesbrough and still better than at Everton.

Talking about knee-jerk reactions, really.

Yakubu has shown he can play more than decent football and Fryatt won't score in every single game, either.

Which leads me to the following question:

Why all this Fryatt obsession? He's no longer at this club.

I actually thought Yakubu played better than normal in all round play today, seemed a bit more up for it to me. However because of 'that' shot people are losing patients with him.

Must admit thought he was going to break the net before, well............

Yak is poor ATM but people expect too much from him. Had 2 men on him atleast. Doesn't help with gally and vas going through the middle clogging up the centre of the pitch.

But haters go after king, he doesn't contribute when he doesnt score he's ****ing piss poor generally, have a moan about that you bunch of complete and utter retards

Waghorn misses so many chances and offers little overall. Yak is our best striker by far, end of

Vassell in the middle was producing better performances than Yakubu is. I'd like to see the Yak dropped just to show he isnt gauranteed a place all the time.

Might help to pull his finger out.

Goals for Leicester this season, so any future games for Fryatt are irrelevant.

It's not a Fryatt obsession. Rather it's an interesting comparison between a player considered by many to not be good enough for this level, and one that is supposedly Premier League class.

It's not a knee-jerk reaction. Yakubu is paid a lot of money, especially at this level and he has played poorly in at least 5 of his 12 games to date. He should be open to criticism, and Fryatt is as good a comparison as any.

A friend of mine who supports pompey said when he came that he has brief moments of genius and the majority of the time laziness,i thought it was sour grapes, but i think he was spot on.

I would rather have a Craig Mackail-smith non stop running and scoring for seasons than the yak and i hate peterborough .i hope i am proven wrong in a big way.

He's scored a couple of quality goals and clearly can show flashes of brilliance but sadly that ain't enough. You need a striker who is prepared to work for the team and is fairly clinical with his chances, sadly Yakubu seems to have neither asset.

He flattered to deceive early on, but now I won't be sorry to see the back of him.

The problem with him is the fact that he thinks he is way better than he actually is. Hes used to the prem and now hes dropped down a league he sees himself as a big fat fish in a small pond.

The way he struts his stuff and just watches the ball roll by with that gormless grin of his just shows how much he doesnt give a shit. He knows he can piss off back to everton whenever he likes and is simply at Leicester for a jolly.

I want to love him but I can't.

It's one thing missing the amount of chances he does but another to not put the effort in.

So much for 'Premiership' class.

Guarantee Sven will never drop him though.

Saw Yakubu in train station at around 6.20. Got photo but its very bad quality!

Did he move too soon? :dunno:

Haha! Im pretty sure it was Yakubu, my stepbrother spotted him and he looked just like him and the two lads sitting behind him seemed to think it was him aswell, and as he left to get his train he shook hands with both of them.

Will post photo link in a minute, it was taken on BB Curve. 2mp

Sorry about the overuse of the word 'and'

OH FFS you stupid **** ing ****, are you blind as to see he has contributed shit all in the last few home games? A wonder goal every 5 games doesn't make up for no effort. He couldn't control a ****ing ball today. I COULD HAVE SCORED THAT FREE HEADER. So what he's scored some goals, he never challenges, always loses it, can;t ****ing run. If he scores a piss easy chance 1st half its a lot different.

JUST BECAUSE HE'S YAKUBU DOESN'T MEAN HE CAN'T BE CRITICISED.

tbf you're fairly racist

Is that a phone or a cheeseburger in his hand ?

neither, it's his pre dinner block of lard snack. I'm sorry to all the yak lovers, but this guy is the shittest forward in captivity. doesn't help him that we seem to play with only one up front. (it's definitely not 3). next season it best be 442 or 352 or I'll go and teabag Sven myself.

Ive supported Yak and he is quality whe he is on his game, however i get the feeling that he has eased up, he started so well, he thought he was going to walk this league...clearly not the case.

Yesterday i was forced to listen to the Pompey radio commentary, which apart from being quite good in terms of talking about tactics and setups, spent a lot of time talking about how poorly Yak was performing in comparison to the player they remember, they spent the second half saying, "please dont take him off Sven hes no threat at all".

Disapointed :(
