sdb Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Not denying we need a new keeper but that's nowhere near as bad as i was expecting. Clearly swerving, although those behind the goal will know best whether it shudda been kept out.
Bluefoxtim Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 That looks even worse than it did live! Can't believe their guy got sent off ::
cairnsy Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 If that was Ricardo there would be a warrant to arrest him now but it was bum boy Weale so nothing bad can be said about him. He is just as if not worse than ricardo!!! He cost us 2 points

Stevosevic Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Would expect a pub player to save that, awful. Weale, Weale, Weale All that bollocks.
Craig Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 I was behind it. Yeah, it swerved slightly, but no more than most shots. If he'd stayed still it'd have hit him and not gone in.
scinnell Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Weale out! Ricardo shocking, let's bring in Adam smith :L
lcfc_jme Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Seemed to move in the air, but it was a pretty standard, straight-down-the-middle shot which you'd expect a professional 'keeper to be saving every time. Bread and butter stuff, really. Dreadful effort and Weale really should be no more than a back-up 'keeper next season. He does this kind of stuff too often, teams are beginning to work it out (Palace doing long-distance shooting with no goalkeeper pre-match) and is fast becoming an absolute liability. I really don't think I've ever seen someone with such contrasting shot-stopping skills. Good volley from Mowgli, impressive stuff. Sounded like he played a blinder today, don't think he's all that bad in fairness. Certainly when I've seen him this season he's looked one of our better performers. An easy scapegoat when things don't go right. As for the sending off, it's minimal contact and pretty tame in fairness, but it's avoidable contact and always, always likely to be red in the modern game. Reminds me of Fryatt's red away at Norwich. Soft dismissal but moronic of the player to put himself in that position.
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 ****ing hell weale. that was annoying. probably should have been closed down for the shot quicker. we wouldnt have had a chance like that to shoot today. shit
ozleicester Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 I have stayed mostly neutral on the Weale vs Ricardo debate... BUT... **** me that was piss poor.... and then the crowd still continue with the Weeeeeuuuulllll SH*T !!! He is not good enough and every fan who called for him while ricardo was in goal can now sit back and congratulate themselves on costing us 2 points tonight. FOOOKING COONT!!!!
themotivator Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 tbf we were looking comfortable before we conceded. maybe too comfortable, but clearly the better side. cheers chris.

Because of course Ricardo was ALWAYS immaculate in the games that he played and had nothing to do with the goals we conceded against Cov or Pompey..
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Because of course Ricardo was ALWAYS immaculate in the games that he played and had nothing to do with the goals we conceded against Cov or Pompey.. This is about WEULL, not Ricardo. Start being fair by criticising players because they're playing badly, not because they're Portuguese/not English.
Jakemoore Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Good finish from Oaks, as for their goal; Weale could have saved it, and yeah we need a new permanent keeper, but as we can't do that right now, we have to stick with Weale because at least he can catch the ball (Ricardo)
SOUSA2SVEN Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 I wonder how rich i would be for the blunders are keepers have had this season. <_< I would still start weale for the reading game though
Messi Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 I sit behind the goal were that Palace goal was scored, it looked as if Weales view was being blocked by Ben Mee and there was some swerve. But still, he should have kept it out quite easily.
Collymore Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Stringer was saying it would have been a penalty on the Yak if Oakely hadn't put it away
Mack Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Absolutely shocking gaff from Weale. Also sitting behind it there was nothing out of the ordinary about it, it should have been a routine save. If looks could kill then Weale would be in bother because the look Oakley was giving him straight after was homicidal! After Mee, Oakley and Bamba stared at him in disbelief for what must have been 10 seconds Bamba finally encouraged Weale out of his slump of self pity. Having been thoroughly pissed off with Ricardo giving teams cheap goal head starts this from Weale is the icing on the cake. In the run in goalkeeping gaffs have cost us dear, from both Ricardo and now Weale. Having said that, we were pretty flat before the soft goal went in, we looked half the pace and urgency compared to the weekend. Palarse made it very hard for us, had done their homework and we were not flexible enough to find another way to break them down.
