Callabinho Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Were making a renewed bid at some point this week, I'd expect or to be around £4 mill
Babylon Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Were making a renewed bid at some point this week, I'd expect or to be around £4 mill Are you just plucking these things out of the air?
Callabinho Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Are you just plucking these things out of the air? Nope, I was told this earlier. I think Bert also said something similar.
Monkeh BCFC Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 he's not injury prone he's had one (although serious) injury since he's been with us (3 years) and 1 injury at Crewe he was their from 15 - 21 (a broken leg),
wattolcfc Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I didn't want CMS, I've wanted Maynard all along and surely this is a MUST now. IF he rejects us, where does that leave us?
Babylon Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Where does that leave us? Needing to find another striker, I'm sure Sven has more on his list.
wattolcfc Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Needing to find another striker, I'm sure Sven has more on his list. Agreed but it looks like players seem to be shopping around and surprisingly we don't seem to be offering the best package, well either that or everyone is suddenly greedy!
Babylon Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 we don't seem to be offering the best package, well either that or everyone is suddenly greedy! reports say we did offer the most, I think this is a lifestlye / big fish in small pond thing.
wattolcfc Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 reports say we did offer the most, I think this is a lifestlye / big fish in small pond thing. Babylon, just read this.. Sounds like Brighton offered him more money. I for one am glad he chose them, greedy b@st@rd and still not proven enough for me, and at 27 definitely not worth £3m.. Maynard PLEASE! http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?205379

Maynard PLEASE! http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?205379 agreed, Maynard is worth a punt
dannythefox Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I think if we dont act soon we will miss out on a quality striker Yak, CMS, Nugent lets stop pissing about and slap 4m down for Maynard! Were going to end up with a great team and no striker!
Legend_in_blue Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 If we were willing to put £3m on CMS then I can't see £4m being an issue for NM. Get someone in who has ambishun and "passion"!

Maynard PLEASE! http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?205379 Greedy bastard? What, for choosing the best deal for him? How dare he go to a club which just felt right and maybe even offered more... Reading between the lines he didn't seem overly impressed with us and we were never really on the cards as far as he was concerned Maybe Brighton rolled out the red carpet and their language of 'building a team around you' certainly would sound good to me, along with an obviously impressive chairman & stadium. also, it sounds like Sven (rumoured to be on holiday at the time) never made himself available to meet CMS... and lets be honest here, our bigger signings will need sven to be involved because the lure of Leicester may not be that great when someone does go out on a limb to welcome you to the club He's been sold a dream, whether it works or not is a different matter, of course. Of we too have the dream, but for some reason our selling of it just didn't stick with him. Interesting insight in that thread into West Ham's finances (if its true), they couldn't pay enough upfront so dropped out assuming he was joining us - This perhaps bodes well for the next player we're both linked with
Kent Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 If we end up signing Maynard and/or Mills (I know both are a long way off atm) then this will really turn it for me and make me consider us a genuine automatic promo threat. Now that CMS hasn't happened I would guess we will make a serious bid this week, we're running out of potential options up front.

MrSpaM Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Good post,... he obviously liked what he heard at Brighton, just because he snubbed us let's not be arrogant and bitter Sounds like he prefered Gus Poyet to Sven
sphericalfox Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Sounds like he prefered Gus Poyet to Sven I think he got the same terms with us as he did with Brighton and West Ham, what he will get at Brighton is Legendary status. I don't think he felt he would attain that with us or West Ham. Maybe our fans are too critical. There would be too much pressure on him to succeed with WH and ourselves. Brighton are on a momentum wave, and staying up will be enough for their fans. CMS will probably help them achieve this and gain a respect amongst their fans. Our fans would just turn on him should he hit a drought. I do hope now we can at least speak to Maynard and get him to see what we are going to aim for, and how he will play a part in it.
john doe Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Sounds like he prefered Gus Poyet to Sven or the chilled out lifestyle oposed? to i will smash your teeth out if you look at me bird again
ealingfox Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Have to admit I didn't know much about Maynard, but after a bit of research post-CMS, WE NEED THIS GUY IN OUR TEAM! Fits what Sven tried to install last season to a tee, throw in Matt Mills, a tasty winger or two and a workhorse forward and we will be in fantastic shape!
shade Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 if Maynard also comes on here, I'll personally wash his car if he signs. (one time only, and I won't wax it, that will cost more). the balls in your court mr Maynard.
