Seriously, if the US had the slightest doubt they'd got their man, would they risk every TV station in the world receiving a video showing a grinning Bin Laden holding today's newspapers and threatening further jihad?! It would be the biggest own goal in history and the biggest ever boost for Al-Qaeda. Bin Laden is as dead as a dodo. The explanations of the immediate disposal of the body (abiding by Islamic tradition, to avoid inflaming needless hostility) and of the burial at sea (to avoid creating a focus for him as a martyr) are also quite logical. As for the DNA, they've already said they had some DNA ready, taken from his sister's body after she died of natural causes. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the US could broadcast the video of his killing, spread photos of his dead body, show DNA evidence, pull his dead corpse out of the sea and parade it round on a humvee. It still wouldn't stop the conspiracy theorists. It would all be fake.

The potential for the USA being humiliated if they had just lied about his death would be huge. He's dead and is now providing a rather succulent meal for sharks in the Indian Ocean. I can't see how burying him at sea would have been in accordance with Islamic tradition would be possible though, seeing as the body must face Mecca when buried, but I certainly see how his grave could have become a shrine for jihadists the world over so support the decision to dispose of his body in such a way. I daresay there are plenty out there who will stubbornly and steadfastly refuse to believe he's dead but that's conspiracy theorists in action. The thing is that the US couldn't win. If they had splashed pictures all over the news of his bullet ridden corpse the same people accusing them of lying about his death would have called it gloating, disrespectful and inflammatory in much the same way they did when Saddam Hussein was captured and eventually executed.

But Imran Asif from number 12 Abottobad Street said it's rubbish because he never saw Bin Laden once on the school run. Surely that's enough evidence to throw it into doubt?

They have been plotting for years, but large scale attacks are incredibly difficult to organise and pull off without alerting the authorities. The best they could hope for is a couple of US based loners clubbing together and blowing up themselves and a gas canister or two.

No one is saying they are an expert, but it's common sense. If they were so easy to pull off why have there been so few? To think they will somehow now be able to launch a large scale attack is not realistic. 9/11 was years in the making and the london attacks were no overnight job. Small localised attacks with one or two individuals yes. Large scale organised attacks passed down from the leaders like 9/11 massively unlikely in the short term.

Quite, after all how many "promises" made by Obama during his Presidential campaign has he gone back on. In terms of telling the truth he does not have much credibility.

Don't you think that it's a bit strange that that is always the case? All I see are some people agreeing that folk who question the official story will never be happy and patting eachother on the back. I don't see any serious answers to questions that you should be bothered about. Every single President and PM in our memories is involved in the same dirty business of arming despots and yet most of you seem to believe that these things are just mistakes that our leaders learn from and that they never really meant to do any harm. You don't seem to want to admit that your leaders are shits and are responsible for people like Bin Laden! Un-be-bloody-lievable. When will you all learn that our leaders are not like us and they don't give a flying fack about your safety or quality of life?

End of the day if they do fund the evil men, what are we actually going to be able to do about it anyway? Are we funding North Korea, Iran and Russia too? If you are right and its a number of leaders over the decades that are involved, all of which have been elected, that suggests there's a power above them pulling the strings - so once again we're stuck. So if that is the case, whats to be worried about - may as well continue with our existance as normal?
