B52 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 People banging on about Billy Sharp, i would just like to bring his record at Sheff Utd to everyone's attention: 8 goals in 51 games Ched evens is 13 in 67 which is a very similar record. All I'm saying is players can move on and flourish elsewhere when they haven't at another club. I know Sharp had a good record at Scunny before going back to Sheff Utd but that was in league 1. He has done very well for Donny since, so there is no reason Evans couldn't do the same with us. Sven know Ched from his days at Man City so if he signs him he obviously feels he has something to offer our club. And if we look at how he did at Norwich the picture changes. 10 goals in 28 starts(8 as a sub). If he fits svens system it will be fins.

Couldn't agree more, take DJ Campbell, couldn't get a game for us, sold him to Blackpool and impressed me at Premiership level... Think we need to take a chance if the price is right.
cc_star Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 All that's well and good, But we had an Everton bid accepted for the Yak, but we weren't willing to break our wage structure to bring him in and why would anyone want to take a pay cut, it's not like he was born in Leicester or we're the club of his dreams We had the bid accepted for CMS, but seemed to lose interest chasing Maynard We're not willing to pay what it takes to get Maynard Anyone else we're interested in will be fourth choice at best, I don't think we can read anything into that but it's not a great place to start from is it

absolutelegend Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 wasn't it common knowledge we went for him at the start of the summer?
absolutelegend Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I don't see the massive problem with him. No a massive problem, just a little dissapointing when you see who we were linked with. I'd sooner have waggy, gally or vassel starting
Libertine Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 wasn't it common knowledge we went for him at the start of the summer? Yes but I think he may have been an alternative to Nugent perhaps. I'd have thought we'd be bidding for a big money striker even if we'd have got King.
absolutelegend Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Yes but I think he may have been an alternative to Nugent perhaps. I'd have thought we'd be bidding for a big money striker even if we'd have got King. IMO he's a better player in this league than Yak, Maynard, Nugent and CMS
kingfox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 People keep banging on about Sharp for a good reason, he has done very very well for the past two seasons. When Evans has done fook all, for two seasons big difference forget Sharp's goalscoring record for Sheff Utd it's at Donny where he has become a great striker. Evans not good enough simple as that.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Give the boy a chance! 750K Max though Hahahahaha. At 12.15am here in France. I just burst out laughing at your sig! Quality is the word. Less can be said for the lads penalties..... I'm also liking the irony in calling yourself "The Ultimate Winner" and then having a picture of one of the "Ultimate Loser's" of Leicester's history in your signature.
Bezzanator89 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Has an overall goals/game rate of 0.28. Quite low considering the other targets we have in mind like Maynard (0.43).
jonw88 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 From what I remember reading, Sheff Utd are rather fooked financially after relegation. They let Darius Henderson go for peanuts just to get his wages off their bill, so maybe, as Ched is such a high earner, they'd be willing to let him go for very little too and get him off their accounts

If you knew Sharp was going to be so good after he left Sheff Utd, and you know that Evans will still be crap after he has left Sheff Utd can you give me some horse racing tips please. Clairvoyant geniuses like you are very rare.
Dabizas Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 In the CMS thread people were saying he scored 10 in a relegated team which was good, this guy got 9 and people slate his scoring record! Not sure how many games they played not looked any deeper I'm not statto! But I just think he has potential and would be worth a punt in my opinion!
RyanB89 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 IMO he's a better player in this league than Yak, Maynard, Nugent and CMS Your joking?
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Are you talking about Marlon King or Ched Evans?
paddy Agyemang Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I'd rather have roman bednar (bender) back than ched Evans
thybluefox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 no Then I suggest you go and have a long think in a dark room.
dannythefox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I would want Waggy all day long over Evans. We go for Yak then CMS then Maynard all great players then Evans pops up come people hardly close to any of them. Billy Sharp should be next on the list probably get him for under 3.8m hes proven and scores wherever he plays would do well here.
Finnegan Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 How many times have ANY of you seen Evans play? Did you even know what he looked like til we were linked?
