MC Prussian Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 The Leeds boys aren't happy. http://www.motforum....php?f=1&t=23998 Some of those comments - and I thought our fans were impatient... Seriously, good job by Sven and his entourage. Schmeichel, a young and hungry keeper, talented. And they know each other from the time at Notts County. But where's our resident Dane shen when you need him? I bet Leicester will see an extra boost in shirt sales with this signing. Much-needed competition for Weale, who had too much time at his hands at free reign, even with his terrible cock-ups.
MiniFox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Kasper Schmeichel is surprised by Leeds United's decision to accept an offer from Leicester City and insists he never requested a transfer. The Elland Road club confirmed earlier on Monday that an undisclosed fee, reported to be around £1million, had been agreed for the sale of the goalkeeper to their Championship rivals. Leeds boss Simon Grayson believes the deal represents good business, but Schmeichel, who played 40 games last season and has one year left on his current contract, is shocked. The 24-year-old said in a statement: "At the end of the season Leeds United and I both made a commitment to honour the last year of my contract and try to win promotion with Leeds United. "I want to put on record that I have never asked to leave the Leeds United, nor did I reject an offer for a new contract, since one was never put to me." Kasper Schmeichel Quotes of the week Great disappointment "Therefore it is with great disappointment that I have learned that Leeds United have accepted an offer from Leicester. "I want to put on record that I have never asked to leave Leeds United, nor did I reject an offer for a new contract, since one was never put to me. "I was enjoying being a Leeds United player and was looking forward to winning promotion this season with the club. "I have spoken to the manager Simon Grayson and he has made it clear to me, that, in spite of having played well for him, this is something he believes is a good deal for Leeds United. "I have been put in a very difficult situation and will spend some time considering my options for my future." kasper schmeichel stunned by deal sorry if this has already been posted.
Buggsteam Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Would be a great signing if it happens. Still young and alot to learn but a confident keeper in this league. Not getting my hopes up tho till he signs. Remember Everton accepted our offer for the Yak and that deal looks to have fallen thru. Hope Sven can work his magic. Maynard next please.
Mee Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 His dads a c.unt and so is he.Sh1t scum b.astard. Top post of the year on the Leeds board anyone?
Toffee_Fox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 is it just me who saw Schlupp slip up talking to that twitter account? Schlupp is also following them and speaks to them quite a bit, so they might be involved in or around the club? Clutching at straws here!!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I feel a bit sorry for the guy. Leeds have basically kicked him where it hurts, and he is extremely, and rightfully, both hurt and angry.
MC Prussian Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 WHAT? HE IS NOT BETTER THAN WEULL CUZ HES FORRUN!!!! WEULL WEULL WEULL!
shen Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 But where's our resident Dane shen when you need him? I bet Leicester will see an extra boost in shirt sales with this signing. What do you need me for? I don't think there will be a boost in shirt sales. I know a few Danes who are Leeds fans from the days when they had success, but he didn't exactly get much attention in the Danish media even after they got promoted. Have not seen anyone wearing a K. Schmeichel shirt either I'm hoping that it will get some attention especially given his recent call-up, which indicates he's in the running to become Thomas Sørensen's replacement. Now watch the deal fall through...

Schmeichel does seem to get along well with Maxi G judging from his recent twitter comments. He might or might not get a good impression of Leicester then...
FoxTrott Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if its just a P.R thing so he doesn't leave on bad terms with Leeds/Leeds fans. What goes on behind the scenes is completely different to what we see. He might of wanted to leave, he might not of. Whatever the case, he at least seems to appear loyal to his club. Let us just hope it doesn't affect his performance.
Stardust Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Leeds fan here in peace *Waves White flag*(I live outside of Yorkshire now but travel to games) Kasper isn't a bad goalkeeper like some other fans are saying, yes he does make a mistake now and again, but most of those goals conceded, probably 90 percent have been the result of the absolutely appauling defense we have, this isn't an issue with the goalkeeper, even the best goalkeeper in the world can't do much with a defense like ours, but simply put. Kasper pretty much kept us in most games, games that we should of lost, this is the honest reality of things, he was the lifeline that stopped a bad result getting worse lo You have one of the best goalkeepers in the league now playing for you(Well when he officially signs), he can only get better, and as your team has the money for a decent defense, well team in time, he will be an absolute gem. Ignore the bitter angry fans that are bad mouthing him, everyone, including me are just annoyed about the lack of investment in the club, ideally we need a new chairman that can put money in the club for some decent signings, not take it away Anyway, I'm predicting a top 6 finish for Leicester this season, hopefully you'l finish above the scabs(Forest), as they're a bunch of dicks anyway. Best of luck chaps with your next Season campaign.
1994fox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 that twitter post has ruined an otherwise pleasant evening
cc_star Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I think he wants to walk away on a free, he'd agreed with them to run his contract down. They have now thrown a spanner in the works accepting our bid.... that's how it reads to me. I agree This mean we'll probably have to pony up more money that he could have got on a free that he probably won't get with a hefty fee being attached. He maybe wouldn't want to stay with us beyond the season if we don't go up so is probably hard-balling for something like a release clause should someone else come in for him if we're still in the Champs

Rio Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Kasper Schmeicel is a frustrating goalkeeper. He can come up with a flash of brilliance, yet getting off his line, commanding his area and dominating crosses are his weak points. Honestly, he's quite clearly trying to emulate his dad. The clips a lot of you have seen on highlights will be of his stunning saves and his berating the defence, when in fact, he's blaming everyone but himself. Quite frankly, on occasions this year, he's been a joke. For what it's worth, he uses his twitter account to either wind up fans, or purposely come across as a **** - one post that sticks out was one where he went mental at a kid for asking for an autograph. In conclusion, he's 'alright' but he's no HUGE loss to Leeds United. He's simply not reliable enough. A definite Big Time Charlie...with barely enough talent to back it up. Have you seen this video posted on dirtyleeds? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DASsxisiHTk&feature=player_embedded Six seconds in. Enjoy him. P.s, this is a familiar board layout
Bilbo Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I'm a bit annoyed about this statement, it doesn't really reflect very well on our club as it looks as though we are signing players against their will and they don't want to come and play for us. This coupled with the Yak saga I'm a tad nervous it might have a negative effect on attracting more transfer targets. I know that might be over dramatic and I understand it is probably just to appease the Leeds fans but it just annoyed me.

FoxyPalace.com Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 He will sign, lets face it Leeds have booted him out!!! There loss, our gain!!!
