KasperS Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I dont know if its internet bullsh*t, but ive read theres a protest at elland road right now. Not bad for an average championship keeper. Its internet bullshit.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Would be a decent signing, not been overly impressed by him though I have to say.
Callabinho Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Regarding his twitter statement i think that it is a front, to make sure the Leeds fans don't hate him, it's not in grayson's nature to just accept an offer without consulting him. However if it is true I actually feel sorry for both him and the Leeds fans but I would love to see him here! They have gradel we will have kasper! I' m sure Sven will have a word

CKB Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I welcome this move but would be abit miffed if Leeds got Westwood? I'm sure that's all bollocks anyhow as i swear Westwood is more or less Sunderland bound?
Ashley Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 I welcome this move but would be abit miffed if Leeds got Westwood? I'm sure that's all bollocks anyhow as i swear Westwood is more or less Sunderland bound? Agreed a 4 year deal - pre contract though.
Dan Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 NUFF SAID Nuff said eh? Would you not have this bloke in your side also? Due to this? Weale's not a disaster, he wasn't up to it this year but people were waaaay too fast to forgot what he did under Pearson, new era now I know but that year alone proved he isn't "useless" or "a disaster".
CKB Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Agreed a 4 year deal - pre contract though. Ahhh that old chesnut the "pre contract" ... So he will probs now end up at Newcastle
CloudFox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3648943/Kasper-Schmeicel-hits-out-at-Leeds.html Tomorrow's sun, well todays sun! What's most bemusing about that article is that underneath in the comments a Man Utd fan has posted the following: C'mon Fergie.... sign him up! Another Schmeichel at Old Trafford, how brilliant would that be! Regardless, I hope he signs and am looking forward to him playing for us if he does. Sven will have then been with him at 3 separate clubs, so he clearly knows what he's buying, and assumedly they already have a good working relationship. Logically this would suggest that Schmeichel would know what Sven wants/expects of him, and so potentially this familiar 'working relationship' as it were would make it easier for him to blend into the squad, and perhaps quicker than normal.
Mack Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 If Leeds get Westwood then we have got the Donkey's scrot hair in this deal. And after all this fella has said about being upset at being sold to us I'd tell him to **** off now anyway.
Jakemoore Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 It would seem he doesn't actually want to leave Leeds, whether he wants to join us or not I don't know sounds bit negative though
Raj Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Im sure its all load of yipyap just to have got a better deal at Lids. Good young player and a good signing for us.
Jimbo Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Nuff said eh? Would you not have this bloke in your side also? Due to this? Weale's not a disaster, he wasn't up to it this year but people were waaaay too fast to forgot what he did under Pearson, new era now I know but that year alone proved he isn't "useless" or "a disaster". You missed the earlier post with the video of 'that' goal against Derby and let's not forget he was heavily criticised for his positioning for the free kick against Cardiff in the playoffs which turned out to be a crucial goal. Weale isn't a disaster as you say but he's not as great as most of out fans like to make out. He's great a point blank range and he's great at the 2nd save but most of the time if he'd held the first shot he wouldn't have to make the 2nd stop
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 He was criticised for whittinghams goal, but he made some crucial stops in both games.
Adster Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Says in today's Mirror that it's a 'double-your-money' deal
Adster Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Also, I expect liamlcfc1 to be camping outside the ground to see Kaspar go in for his medical today, pronto!

millzi Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 If that free-kick had been taken where the ref pointed it out and where the foul was, it wouldn't have been a goal A what? Are you actually being serious orrr..? How do you know whether it would have been a goal or not "if it had been taken where the ref pointed it out".... That's right, you don't!
Callabinho Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 It would seem he doesn't actually want to leave Leeds, whether he wants to join us or not I don't know sounds bit negative though Keeping the leeds fans sweet to avoid 'willy puller' when we play them!
davieG Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 If they get Westwood for free and we have to pay £1.5m for a player who isn't that keen on a move doesn't sound like a great deal to me. LEEDS UNITED will step up their attempts to lure No 1 target Keiren Westwood to Elland Road after accepting a bid from Leicester City for Kasper Schmeichel. The Elland Road club first spoke to Coventry City’s out-of-contract goalkeeper during the final few months of last season after it emerged he was unlikely to sign a new deal at the Ricoh Arena. Simon Grayson has been a big admirer of the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international for some time. Sunderland are understood to have also been in talks with Westwood over a possible move to the Premier League with sources in the North East indicating a deal could be imminent. However, following yesterday’s decision to accept Leicester’s £1.5m bid for Schmeichel, Leeds will step up their bid to land the highly-rated former Carlisle United goalkeeper. Schmeichel’s imminent departure to be reunited with Sven Goran Eriksson at the Walkers Stadium means United, who released Shane Higgs at the end of last season, have no senior goalkeepers on the books. On the decision to accept Eriksson’s offer, Grayson said: “We feel this is the right deal for the club. We spoke to Kasper’s agent at the end of the season about a contract extension and it was apparent that it was going to be a difficult deal. “Given the fact he has one year remaining on his contract, we feel this is in the best interests of Leeds United.” Schmeichel moved to Elland Road on a free transfer last summer from Notts County, where he played under former England coach Eriksson, and went on to make 40 appearances as Leeds finished seventh in the Championship. Schmeichel said: “I want to put on record that I have never asked to leave Leeds United, nor did I reject an offer for a new contract, since one was never put to me. “Therefore it is with great disappointment that I have learned that Leeds United have accepted an offer from Leicester. “I was enjoying being a Leeds United player and was looking forward to winning promotion this season with the club. “I have spoken to the manager Simon Grayson and he has made it clear to me, that, in spite of having played well for him, this is something he believes is a good deal for Leeds United. “I have been put in a very difficult situation and will spend some time
Callabinho Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Do we think Westwood will join Leeds? He has already had talks with us before Sunderland swooped in he will there next season!
80footgiraffe Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I doubt westwood will go anywhere but sunderland personally. It's premier league vs mid table finish next season. If westwood looks close to going to leeds, we'll withdraw and step up to westwood.
