I've not really followed Joyce but he did seem to do everything in slow motion. Other top heavies are far quicker.  Seems a nice guy though. Dignified post fight interview.

Joyce relying on his chin as his first line of defence was gonna catch up with him at some point. No adaptation whatsoever after Zhang was landing  that big straight left with ease in the first minute of the fight

 

Could be out for a while with that damage around his eye

As expected with Tank, As above watched him from his first fight and you have to appreciate his Ring IQ is just superior to anyone he’s faced. Impressed with how he’s dealt with first Rolly now Garcia both that claimed they were gonna knock him out and people believed them. Looking forward to see what comes of the next year and the opponents going forward

Was lucky enough to be at Haney V Loma at the MGM on Saturday night. Once in a lifetime stuff being able to watch a fight in that venue - few observations: 

 

1. Fight culture in America is very different to here. It’s 100% more about the boxing than the spectacle and I enjoyed that. I can’t say I knew anyone on the undercard but every fight felt high quality. If you ever get chance to go to a Top Rank show, I’d recommend it.
 

2. The Nakatani punch that knocked Moloney out has to be knockout of the year so far. Go and find it on YouTube if you can. I felt it in my seat. 
 

3. Judges in the US also make some really weird calls that don’t help themselves. I think Haney probably did enough to win the fight considering I thought Loma would need to basically knock him out to win, but there was a judge who gave the 10th round to Haney and it was baffling if you saw it. I’ve seen a lot of people say that Loma was robbed and that might be true having watched the highlights, although in person it felt a fair result at the time from where I was sat (in the nosebleeds granted). Haney’s defence was very good. Loma’s movement is scary.

Yeah, I’d like that judge to be sat down in front of an independent board and forced to play the fight back, walking them through how they got that score.
