Zingari Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 The KP Stadium sounds too much like The KC Stadium, and we've shared enough with Hull in the last year already. I'd much rather refer to it as Filbert Way. I think the KY Stadium would sound much better
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I for one will be looking to see how long it takes between the stadium name change, and the first airport contract in the UK king power win... Because after all that why they are over here, we are their marketing vehicle(no two ways about it) at a time when many airports are being sold off and bought meaning all contracts are up for grabs... If Derby still have that club shop in East Midlands Airport, King Power should have one three times bigger right next door.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 There is something about Flair holiday story - I can't recall it but it was epic. Absolutely epic. I'm going to send out the "Ric Flair story book" tomorrow when I resurrect my old emails.

Foxes_Trust Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 With fair play next year we might get 2M a year from Walkers. If our owners want to call it King Power and sponsor it at 5 or 10 Million a year i dont care what they call it. If as Bert says there is 50mill to spend and they want to pump cash in so we can compette then great. We don't know the details and untill we do we should not put the name down IMO. For now i say :scarf: We are aware of details of the original 10 year stadium sponsorship deal & can assure you the figure is nothing like that amount per season, Walkers got a very good deal for them in comparison to some other naming rights deals other clubs achieved
Alexikokopops Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 My new address is my name (no underscores or whatever) @gmail.com I'm sure I've emailed you on it before. I'll check tomorrow. Either way YOU'LL GET IT
The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I'm sure I've emailed you on it before. I'll check tomorrow. Either way YOU'LL GET IT Fantastic. Good work. Right. I'm off to drink me some tea and read me some book. That's how I roll. Night sweetie. x

thybluefox Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Night pumpkin x Feel the love. Like most I couldn't give 2 shits. Walkers are owned by some faceless American Corp. who paid peanuts (ahem) for naming rights. King power are however currently pouring tens of millions into the club. Would think that the Walkers name in the seats will be replaced with the KP logo?
MC Prussian Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Wow. Massive news. Dagnall, please - "End of an era"?? It's been only eight years.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Perhaps it shows the owners will be in it for the long run though, even if we don't go up

Pepsi, who aren't exactly short of a quid or two. As Ultra observed on Twitter, had they given the same financial backing when the stadium opened in 02 that Vichal, Top & co are giving us now, we would not have been forced into administration, nor would we have spent years in exile out of the top flight.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Its official the new name of our stadium is ' The King Power Stadium, Sounds very royal doesnt it link below, http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2386410,00.html
FrankieADZ Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 well they better get all the stuff referring to the ground as the walkers down then....dont envy the ones who need to take the banner from around the top of the stands; tho hopefully it means the big screens will go up now
ozleicester Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 so Walkers remain as a "Legacy Partner"... which means what exactly?
Len Finsbury Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 I have a certificate relating to a brick I purchased in a wall of a non existent stadium now
Ric Flair Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 OCTOSTACKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flair, where are you??????? I've checked his FB out and I reckon he's doing one of the following: a) getting p'd up and doing the john/jon (did he 'h' it?) b) wearing a silly hat c) cycling He seems to do quite a lot of all three. What a man. I also do a lot of a (the first half), b and c! Maybe I am Flair...? There is something about Flair holiday story - I can't recall it but it was epic. Absolutely epic. Hahahahahahahaaaa I forgot about those emails, I might still have them as I never delete things. I just can't remember which email address I did it from?
Fox92 Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Seen it on the official site today. Not sure what to make of it really, I much often referred to the ground as 'Filbert Way' anyway.
cc_star Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Change it to what they want, I still call it Filbo even though its an entirely new stadium & not just a name change... although Walkers has just entered my conciousness so I'll probably get around to calling it that later this coming season On a side note, does this end Walkers affiliation with our club?
evs_the_fox Posted 5 July 2011 Posted 5 July 2011 Have no issue with what it's called, it's Filbert Way, 'down the City' or, when talking to supporters of other clubs, just 'Leicester' so if it keeps Top & Co. happy then so be it. One piece inside the ground that does make it obviously 'Leicester' though is the montage banners round the roof. I'm guessing they're coming down though as they've got Walkers' on them... So, am I pissing in the wind hoping they replace them with a very similar thing only with King Power on them this time...?

Crucially, Leicester City's long-standing partnership with Walkers Snacks will also continue in to this new era at the club.Walkers, who in 2012 will celebrate their 25th year of association with Leicester City, will become the Club's Legacy Partner. The new agreement commences for the 2011/12 season. As Legacy Partner, Walkers' relationship with the Club will continue to represent both parties' strong ties to the Leicester community and their commitment to local football development. Walkers will also retain a strong, visual presence around the stadium, including branding of the stadium's 550-seat conference and hospitality facility, which will be renamed 'The Walkers Hall'. Ian Ellington, General Manager for Walkers, said: "Leicester City Football Club has always been important to Walkers. http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2386410,00.html
