Bryn Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Would 100% go for that. I think Holt would turn us down and fight for his place though.
Babylon Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Daily Mail Eh what... Where the hell has this come from? ha
lcfcsnow Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Better option than Howard for sure but still think we need a Maynard/Long type striker with a bit of pace.
Chive-_-Dip Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I watched him play for norwich in a pre seson friendly last night against real zaragoza I think this would be a wicked move IMO And I dont think he is part of lamberts plans for there prem season
Tielemans63 Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Can't see it happening. Be good if it did though - proper old skool striker, like a good Steve Howard
Izzet is God Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Would 100% go for that. I think Holt would turn us down and fight for his place though. Think your right there...can't see him leaving Norwich, plus wouldn't 100% believe this, he is after all Norwich's captain, top goalscorer and the fans love him!
Nick Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Think your right there...can't see him leaving Norwich, plus wouldn't 100% believe this, he is after all Norwich's captain, top goalscorer and the fans love him! Not sure about this one, I would need to see a youtube video before making my mind up.
Guest shearfox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Be brilliant if we got him, 2m seems like a nice price.
Christoph Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I'd bite there hand off, especially for the price, will also enable us to get rid of big steve, and tbh I think Holt could do well as a lone striker. Not sure if he'd move though
danny. Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 2m would be a bargain - he scored 21 goals last season
Happy Fox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I can see this happening if Shane Long's transfer breaks down but not looking likely at the moment according to Sven and LCFCinfoman
Ric Flair Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 This will shut up the mongoles who don't want us to go big on a striker. £2 million for a 30 year old is just as bad as £6 million on a 24 year old but i'd be happy with Holt purely for the fact he's a powerful centre forward who would work well with Nugent. Holt and Jong for less than £4 million? DEAL.
kingfox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Haha surely this is some sort of wind up. Holt dropping down a division to us, brilliant player but I honestly doubt this will happen. But it's always nice to line up other options, wouldn't be surprised that he is on Sven's list but it seems Shane Long is the number 1 target.
Izzet is God Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Not sure about this one, I would need to see a youtube video before making my mind up. Also have a mate a work who is a Norwich STH...have a look on this forum as well...most of them agree that he's a big player for them even if he only gets 10 a season. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=400&fid=191&sty=2&act=1&mid=2116752108
ScouseFox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I'm sure he should be shit, but for some reason he just isn't. I'd take him and hope last season wasn't just good form.
Ric Flair Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 This mirrors the Steve Howard transfer to us. 30 something lower league striker who fired his team to the Premier League then has to drop back down, except I think Holt has more in his locker at this stage of his career than Howard did when he came to us, we got Big Steve a season or two too late.
Jon the Hat Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Haha surely this is some sort of wind up. Holt dropping down a division to us, brilliant player but I honestly doubt this will happen. But it's always nice to line up other options, wouldn't be surprised that he is on Sven's list but it seems Shane Long is the number 1 target. How is it dropping down a division? He hasn't played in the Prem yet, and they are telling him he is out of the first team picture?
WardyisPukka Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Norwich have no intention of selling Grant Holt #NCFC - fourth official twitter i dont believe they would either!! unless they are really that cash strapped !
Wymsey Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Wouldn't of thought he would drop down a division after helping them gain promotion. He would want a crack in the PL.
