21st Century Fox Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 .....and Team GB could be meeting him the group stages...... sh*t.
Corky Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 What a player Cisse is. That is the sort of thing you go to football to see. Sensational (said in an Andy Gray-style).
marko Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Not bad, not too bad at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysuQdnA2X_Y&feature=youtu.be
ScouseFox Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Crouch's was well better! The build up was better, and the technique was infinitely better. Cisse's just hit it and hoped, Crouch kills it on his chest, facing away from goal, gets his foot about waist height and hits the sweetest volley anyone will ever see. Cisse's goal was good, too.

Not you again.
ScouseFox Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I'm right, I know it. You're all wrong. You're all just on a Cissé hype because he's bagged a few recently. If he'd scored Crouch's goal as well as that one tonight you'd all be saying the first one was better. Because it is.
AjcW Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 How can you say that crouch didn't just hit and hope as well, he spun around and hit the ball hoping it would go in the net. In a sense isn't that what every strike at goal is, you hit it, and hope it goes in.....

Cisse got a ridiculous amount of curl on it, with the outside of his foot and was further out than Crouch.
Guesty Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 They both hit it and hoped. I can't decide which is better, not a fan of dead heats but if ever there was one, Crouch and Cisse should share goal of the season. Each goal is so good people shouldn't look for negatives, just accept they were both quality.
Amin Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Newcastle seem to score a wonder goal every game. That was just incredible.
StanSP Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Usually we're treated to one sensational goal a week. Tonight, there were 3. Cisse's first reminded me of Henry vs Man Utd beating Barthez. The second was just outrageous. I can't think of another word for it. Then there was Modric's stunner. Unstoppable.
EnderbyFox Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 @StupidFootball Lionel Messi has scored 46 league goals this season, Liverpool have scored 43.
AjcW Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Brilliant stat! To change the subject somewhat, I am not sure this has been mentioned anywhere else but.... Sol Campbell admits he found it difficult to accept that his playing days were over and has revealed that he received two intriguing offers last summer. The veteran defender slipped into retirement on Wednesday, with the curtain brought down on an illustrious playing career which has spanned almost 20 years. Having spent much of that time at the very top of the game competing for the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and England,Campbell concedes that he found it difficult to hang up his boots. "It was a very, very difficult decision to come to because it's hard to let go, especially when you have been a top sportsman for a long, long time," he told Sky Sports News HD. "It was a very, very difficult decision to come to because it's hard to let go, especially when you have been a top sportsman for a long, long time." Sol CampbellQuotes of the week "It comes to all athletes around the world, you get to the age where your mind, your body and your spirit says enough is enough. You have to hang up your boots and call it a day. "To get to my decision, it takes a long time. It is difficult for me to be here and say that's it, I'm not playing football on a professional level again. Dedication "It takes a long time because of the work I have done over the years and being at the top, dedication, it's not easy to get to this. That's why I was putting it off for a long time." Campbell has been without a club since being released by Newcastle at the end of the 2010/11 season, but claims he was offered the opportunity to prolong his career. He has refused to reveal the identity of the interested parties, but admits one of newly-promoted Reading and Southampton were among those to approach him. "I had a few offers at the beginning of the season," he said. "They were mostly southern-based. One was a Premiership club who was coming up and another one have actually gone up this year from the Championship. "I had a foot injury so I couldn't even play football at the time. I wouldn't really have done myself justice or the team that were looking at me, so it was a difficult moment. When my foot was ready and fine, obviously people have moved on." Hats off to a player who was fantastic in his prime, good luck in the future Sol.
Finnegan Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 I'm not on Cisse hype and I hate Newcastle. Crouch's goal was hit an hope, he knew roughly where the goal was, had few other options, swung his foot at it and got lucky. Cisse's was just... christ. Maybe an element of luck but what a smash.
Brown Fox Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Crouch's was well better! The build up was better, and the technique was infinitely better. Cisse's just hit it and hoped, Crouch kills it on his chest, facing away from goal, gets his foot about waist height and hits the sweetest volley anyone will ever see. Cisse's goal was good, too. Build up was just a hoof upfield with a knock on. More or less the same as Cisse's. I'm still torn though. Cisse's probably just pips it.
lcfcadam Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 at people saying Crouch's was better than Cisse's Think of it this way - if I tried 1000 times to do what Crouch did I'd probably manage to get it right at some point. Whereas I could try for the rest of eternity and NEVER be able to do anything like what Cisse did for his 2nd last night...
ScouseFox Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 I think it's the other way round. Most people who've ever kicked a football can cut across a bouncing ball that's sat up nicely in front of them. Very few could bring it down and trap it on their foot with a first touch, and not even facing the goal, without it touching the floor, get their foot that high and volley it so sweetly into the far corner. The technique involved in Crouch's goal is harder, even if the end product of Cissé's is probably more spectacular.
Fox92 Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Watched Spurs last night. Looked very good on the counter attack. All 5 goals in the game were good though.
RowlattsFox Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Why do we need to argue who was the better goal? Can't we just appreciate two special goals. Although for me Crouch's was better
