Lambert09 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 What a joke he was today. Top of the table and time wasting in the first half. Was a complete discrace and looked an absolute clown for the hole game. If I was a sea gull I would be fuming! He kicked the ball when it was rolling then dived on the floor when it was passed back to him. His stupidness cost Brighton at the end and I was thankfull he was such a **** wit
Webbo Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 In the end their time wasting rebounded on them. Why worry?
Wymsey Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 You're moaning about an opposition keeper, despite us winning?

Lambert09 Posted 17 September 2011 Author Posted 17 September 2011 More of a sympathetic moan for Brighton fans tbh, I loved that he was getting made to pay
FrankieADZ Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 he was taking ze piff in the 1st half. Surprised the ref didn't pull him up about it tbf
lcfc_sam_p Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 The ref did have a word with him and told him to hurry up in the first half..
shen Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Worse keeper than Casino Jimmy if you ask me...
Austin Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Worse keeper than Casino Jimmy if you ask me... I echo this. He's very poor.
Lambert09 Posted 17 September 2011 Author Posted 17 September 2011 Maybe the people spending money and time watching football who don't want their time wasted. Its fair enough if they were winning but no.
Fox92 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 None of our players were closing him down, thats what I was shouting at. If I was an away goalkeeper looking for a point and no Leicester players closed me down, then I would have done what he did.
Ozwin Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 You're moaning about an opposition keeper, despite us winning? Nothing wrong with it. Better than being blind to everything that went on.

If I was an away goalkeeper looking for a point and no Leicester players closed me down, then I would have done what he did. On the run they've been on, they should be looking to win it, not see their keeper waste a perfectly good minute of the match not bothering to do anything with the ball. We certainly got underneath his skin, he looked rattled and frustrated in the second half.

The priority was stopping him playing out to their full backs and centre halves, because when they did that in the first half an hour they built attacks that were pulling us apart. If one of our players had closed him down he'd of been able to slip it to the full back they'd just run away from to do so and they would have started an attack. We got it right in eliminating his short pass options and forcing him to kick it long. When he did his kicking was either terrible or Bamba/Mills won the ball in the air.

That's a very good point, I'd not seen it like that until then. At the time i was frustrated we didn't close him down!
Bert Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 I don't think he was time wasting. Brighton like to play the ball out from the back. We had this well combatted by "boxing them in". By doing doing this, it limited Brighton to long balls up to our two big centre halves who are great in the air. Brighton are one of the smaller teams in the league which is why they don't go long. How many times did they win it from their goal kick? We were under clear instructions to make sure their defenders were marked from goal kicks and it worked very well.
bluesbrothers Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Casper Ankergran = Paddy Kenny! He was exactly the bloody same! Both arsehats.
gazfox9 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 The 1st goal was alway going to be massive today, and once we'd got it, it sent their plans to rat sh1t. And that of their keeper, total football watching him waste time after just half an hour!

I was surprised so many people were getting so aggitated at the time. We were marking them and he had no options that he felt were suitable. He did seem like a nob though going on other incidents.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Fair enough if he didn't have any options to pass to but eventually he has to do something. But to me the ridiculousness of it perfectly highlighted the stupidity of all the rules regarding time wasting. Essentially if the ball is in play and you're time wasting............you can't be punished for time wasting. But if the ball is out of play and you time waste you can be punished for it. WTF? I get that the rule is there to stop people from breaking up the momentum of the game - i.e stopping a free kick from being taken etc. But why not just make the rule about breaking up momentum and kicking the ball away, rather than time wasting???? In fact if we're going to bother punishing players for time wasting they why bother with most of Stoppage time?
