The Doctor Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 The only German I know is "Ich bein einer chleider", "nein" and "Ze auto-bahn", so I'm not keen on bringing German into our chants. On a side note there is an old SS Officer living down my street and when I pass him I always nod and say one of my three German phrases. All I know is: Verdammt Hoelle (Fvcking Hell) Ficken (Fvck) Fotze (cvnt) absotssend (repulsive) schwanzlutscher (cocksucker) Esel Vergewaltigers (donkey rapist) Du Bist Ein (You Are A) Meaning I can call someone a repulsive donkey rapist in German.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I think that the term "faggots" is quite humurous personally. If offense was the main purpose of the chant there are alot of words which could have been chosen which don't contain any humour, meat or cereal ... seems like banter to me and i think it's pretty sad that people are falling over themselves these days to be the most politically correct and offended person on behalf of a group they don't belong to anyway. Nail head those last few sentances.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 God created Adam and Eve. He didn't create Adam and Steve.
Aus Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 if you see about 1:20 into this video, brighton fans often sing these songs about themselves, much the same way Tottenham take ownership of the Yid Army after abuse, most people going to football accept the banter is there and always has been and always will be. In an overly political correct world, I would love to here from any homosexuals actually offended by these chants, rather than having straight white people saying this will offend asians, homosexuals etc. I know a lot of gay people who openly call themselves faggots and other words that people tell us are offensive. What next people are we not allowed to sing to derby "whats it like to shag a sheep?" or "sign on" to the liverpool fans? what about "i want to go home" calling a place a shit hole may offend the residents of the place your at. relax everyone, no one got hurt. We won and produced a good performance, is this just some of our whinging support looking for something to moan about when there isn't anything?
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I wish I was making this up. A guy the row behind me actually shouted: "Oi, while we've all got jobs you're all up to your nuts in shit you queers!" I mean, what does that even mean? He's wrong so many times in a single sentence it's difficult to know where to start.

He was probably trying to come out of the closet but did not know how to articulate his desires due to being a numpty. All football clubs have them unfortunately.
PAULCFC Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 we pay you're benefits made me laugh. But if this is what this forum has come down to..... then i'm off to Bentlys.
21st Century Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Spurs fans chant "Jermaine Defoe he's a yido" and refer to themselves as Yiddos so i can't agree here sorry, With regards to the 'banter' i think racism / homophobia comes down to context and how it's received. eg "fvcking faggott scum bags" and "you dirty gay b@stards" are hateful, racist / homophobic, and have no place in football grounds or anywhere else for that matter, "Shut up you poofter" isn't in my eyes out of order and i honestly don't know any gay people who would be offended. Tottenham fans have appropriated the word 'Yid' but the Jewish contingent still find it offensive. I'm guessing most of the people who decide what others should and shouldn't find offensive are straight, white, anglo-saxon males, who've at worst ever been called 'fat' before.
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Walking out the ground on the round about a few Brighton fans were giving it mouth " look how much you've spent wankers" obviously few city fans told him nicely to go away then all you got was ye go home and eat your Paki made crisps!! I mean cmon where the **** are the brain cells of these people
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Could have been worse. If someone had started singing "Crap on your bell-end.....You've all got crap on your bell-end.....crap on your bellllllllllllll-end....", Haha class would have shut em up straightaway... I personally don't believe there are any gay footballers. I'm sure I read somewhere that gays choose to be dancers, fashion designers and interior decorators.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 F***** iphone!!!! Dont delete then posts without touching it?
James. Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Where's Tabou when you need the official view from the gays? All I see at the minute is a bunch of middle class straight white boys trying to tell everyone what is or isn't offensive.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 It's just a sad thing when we're more bothered about what or what not to say over anything else. It's everything that's wrong with this country.

It's everything that's wrong with this country. Or is it the fact we won and can't moan about sven. Shame the passion shown in here by some can't be shown at the kp.
Finnegan Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Why do you have to say 'Jesus ****ing Christ'? As a religious guy I find this blaspheming term highly offensive. Sorry mate, it was only banter.
accessory Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Where's Tabou when you need the official view from the gays? All I see at the minute is a bunch of middle class straight white boys trying to tell everyone what is or isn't offensive. In at least one case, you're wrong on several counts.
James. Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 In at least one case, you're wrong on several counts. Thank you for your insight, I'm well aware of that. My point is that a lot of people take it upon themselves to decide what other groups find offensive. Personally I think 'town full of faggots' is a pretty shit chant but then it's a football chant and most football chants ARE pretty shit. Not really a surprise to hear it is it. However I'm not going to start saying it's massively offensive because I have no idea. That said, of the gay guys I know they probably wouldn't give a fvck what some blokes at a football match are singing, whether it's about gays or not.

It is banter plain and simple. The more you waste your time trying to justify your overly-sensitive views the more you make yourself anal. Man up and stop acting like a jessie. Peter ****ing Tatchell is probably less militant than you. Edit: And Fleckney Mike, I am from Kibworth originally and it is a known fact that Fleckney is a village full of gyppo's!!
phillthefox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Why are people on here moaning about the chants at a football ground, it happens at every ground every weekend across the country, people going give it and take it and expect to take it having given it. so y dont people get off their high hose and if you dont want to give banter sit down and be quiet.... Oh and I sit in the kop behind the goal and gave W-angergran abuse all second half ...... SO WHAT !!!!! if you have a problem with it please come and tell me to my face instead of bitching about it on here.........
rico Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 i honestly don't know how some people on here get through life !
Finnegan Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 i honestly don't know how some people on here get through life ! To be fair, find me one person that's saying they were actually UPSET by this. Responses like that do my nut, it's not like everyone's crying into their Ready Brek because of a football chant is it? Just some people saying it's a bit hypocritical being bothered by one prejudiced chant and then banging out one of your own against another side's fans. I just find it a little bit tragic that the only way some people know how to be "edgy" or "laddish" or to "banter" is to be a bigot.
bluefox9er Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Football thrives on banter. Anyone who goes to the football and takes offence at this is in the wrong place, simple as that. so if your kid was molested or wife/girlfriend was raped, you'd be quiet happy if someone said it was just a bit of over - affection by someone who should know better?? Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that banter is an important and fun part of football, but HATRED isn't acceptable.. I used to pride myself on thinking that City fans had evolved with the times and become accepting of people...I can truthfully say i am shocked that there are some amongst us who see racism and homophobia as trivial matters.
