Fox96 Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 I doubt he'll leave anyway, but still, signing of the season so far, so it'd be a big loss to lose him. Plus, will he leave Leicester, guaranteed first team football, when at Tottenham, will he get a start every week, even when their keeper retires, they'll most likely go for another premier league keeper. acooling08 Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 So Mr Heurelho 'I make a terrible error every other game' Gomes is worth £8 million but Kasper 'makes a world class save every other game' Schmeical is only worth £4 million. Okaaaaaaaaaaaay
whoareyaaa Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 wont go anywhere untill the summer I dont think, if we get promoted he will probally stay. If De gea is worth 20Mil then Kasper is worth 10Mil. in a few years he will be at a top 4 team no doubt.

Babylon Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 And yet they didn't sell for £6m, despite us all being cocky that they would. Probably because he never wanted to leave, he wanted to see his contract out for a prem pay day. Had he said he wanted to go they would have had their hand forced. Okaaaaaaaaaaaay Yes that's about right. One is an established international earning big money for a champions league chasing team... the. Other has yet to make an international start and plays in the championship. Transfer fees are also decided partly by wages and the signing on fee that the selling club would want paid back and the buying up of the remaining contract... Had he said he wanted to go they would have had their hand forced. Could be the same situation with us though. If he doesn't want to be 2nd/3rd choice and we go up we can demand whatever price we want really.
Babylon Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 Do you realise Sunderland paid a reported £15 million for Connor Wickham? Granted he's a striker, not a keeper, but thats an absurd amount of money for an unproven championship player. I can't see Leicester wanting to sell, but thinking he's only worth 3/4 million is, imo laughable. And Shane Long cost about 6, Danny Graham a lot less than that. Just because someone pays idiot fees for someone like Wickham (mostly add ons by the way), doesn't mean everyone is suddenly worth £10m. Kasper cost £1m and 20 games later people think he's worth £10m +. Maybe he might end up being worth that, but it's going to take a couple of seasons worth of these performances to get anywhere near. Col city fan Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 Babylon is quite right. Player power will win out and if Kasper wants to leave he'll leave.... And the price will be reasonable to.. I'd estimate 3-4 mill absolute max

If he doesn't want to be 2nd/3rd choice and we go up we can demand whatever price we want really. Indeed we can... But do you honestly think he wouldn't fancy his chances with two very old keepers and Gomes there? If not short term, then long term. Even if he didn't, they wouldn't pay the silly fees people are taking about. They would laugh at us and sign someone else.

Or he could think "stay at Leicester, impress and replace Lindergaard as Danish #1 keeper" as TL doesn't play that often for United
Captain... Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 And Shane Long cost about 6, Danny Graham a lot less than that. You do seem to be missing the point of most of the posts. Some people will pay silly money for players, and unless someone is willing to pay silly money we shouldn't sell him. He was a steal at 1 million worth at least 3 times that when you consider what 1 million gets you these days and how many points he has won us already this season. He is also worth more to us than the actual money. Without him we are playing with Weale or have to get a new one. He is starting to form an understanding with our back four and our midfield and his distribution is improving. If he goes we have to start again from the back. Keeper is such an important position, and it was a big problem last season, we would be stupid not to do everything we could to keep him and make any club that want him, regardless of whether Kasper wants to go or not, pay through the nose for him. He is more important than the money. It looks like the rumours are bollocks, but either way he would be the last player I would want to leave, we have needed a decent keeper for years and he could potentially be our keeper for years. Indeed we can... But do you honestly think he wouldn't fancy his chances with two very old keepers and Gomes there? If not short term, then long term. Even if he didn't, they wouldn't pay the silly fees people are taking about. They would laugh at us and sign someone else. Exactly, we don't want to sell him so we price them out of it. And we'd be happy with that At this point anyway... Perhaps, but it's all ifs and buts. Prices like £10m aren't necessarily ridiculous because if we have the upper hand we can say whatever price we like and they can either pay it or forget it. Kasper wanting to leave and therefore the price being smaller could apply to anyone, I don't think people are arguing that that wouldn't change things. hackneyfox Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 He makes good saves regularly, he's made some great saves. The idea that he's made world class saves every other game is ridiculous. The Palace wc save, as an example, went straight at him. Leeds were happy to let him leave, is that due to an attitude problem when he doesn't get his way. I hope he stays, but if he wants away we won't be getting 6m+ Making him captain won't make a blind bit of difference. The idea of Weale playing games makes me shudder. hackneyfox Posted 6 December 2011 Share Posted 6 December 2011 No, none at all. Apparently we'll get 4m but should ask for 20m, and that's just with spurs interested, anyone else gets rumoured to be interested and he'll be worth 30m. ****, no not weale please god I'll go to church, any church .....wibble

foxfanazer Posted 7 December 2011 Share Posted 7 December 2011 I'd be massively dissapointed if this happened! Brad friedel was on motd2 a few weeks ago and he said he had no intention of retiring for a good few years so hopefully he stays first choice at spurs and Kasper stays
