Nickfosse Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 And who did? Beckford. Why? Because we offered him ridiculous money. Footballers at all levels have become greedy, agents are parasites that should be banned from the sport. I honestly didn't think if Sharp was to turn us down, it'd be for the money, but there you go. I wouldn't call the deal dead yet. I'm surprised BBC and Sky are buying into Saunders' comments, making the deal sound totally dead because Sharp "indicated" he was staying, very odd. Do I think it'll happen though? No. Pearson won't pay over the odds and I hate to say it but I can see him coming unstuck. Every fvcker linked with this club will want over the odds money, and if Pearson won't pay it, who exactly will join us? And why did we offer that money? Because we went running around like scolded cats on transfer deadline day in desperation. They are expensive lessons to learn, but I hope they have been learned and we operate in different ways in the future

rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 so basically if no other team meets his demands it allows him to take up the offer and waltz in. no thank you sharp, either you want to play for us or you dont.

Money is the easy get out for NP he's not gonna say BS did'nt like me is he. He would not say BS won't sign cos we play shite football. Or the attitude stink's and he knows wellens is an arsehole is he. But hey if it's on Twitter it's gotta be true.
dannythefox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Chill people I'm sure we'll get 3-4 new signings in the next two weeks! Not! I can't wait for this season to be over and have a fresh start!
Raj Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 In modern day football i think its refreshing that Billy has turned us down and decided to stay at donnie. At least he aint a $$$$$ grabber like the cvnts we have at City. Good Luck to him i say.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Does this make Bert lcfc unreliable? As he said it would be done before Barnsley? Also I think it's more telling that pearson said after Barnsley "we need to acquire players" as soon as he said NEED every player who we want will have their price tag doubled. Why didn't he just play the game and say we will find depth in the squad we have or some other rubbish he's basically called out for help and in football money and desperation talk
Jobyfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 "Does this make Bert lcfc unreliable?" ----------------------------------------------------- Yes, but probably no less reliable than many of the other Twitter sources who regurgitate what everyone else says, act upon snippets of information or guess.

Errr No he has turned us down because we wont match HIS demands, If we had offered him another 8k/10k I'm sure BS would be kissing the Leicester City badge..........All the way to the bank. It looks like there has been a big change in attitude, as far as getting new players in under Pearson. It's going to be very very interesting to see who Pearson brings in over the next 2 weeks.
Raj Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Surely We'd have improved on the offer Donnie would have given him???
J.Lisemore Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 So we're leaving the door open for a player who doesn't want to play for us...
ibbosuk Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Surely We'd have improved on the offer Donnie would have given him??? I'm sure we did....
Bettsy82 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Surely We'd have improved on the offer Donnie would have given him??? He doesn't want to come to us but is probably happy to stay at doncaster for now. He knows full well he will get a move to the prem at the end of the season.

jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Close thread and shut the door to BS then let's move on
Solihullfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Hang on a minute, haven't got the time to read all posts but........has Billy Sharp actually said he is not coming, have Doncaster officially posted that Sharp is not joining Leicester, have Leicester City said he has told them he is not joining ? All the quotes from Pearson were made by him in an interview before the Dean Saunders claim about Sharp indicating he was not joining. All the other articles I have seen appear to be just going along with stuff said or indicated on Saturday May be that all is not as it seems, don't know just putting it out there.
deep blue Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Trouble is that's all history. Obviously Sharp has had a good look at where we are now and thought " you must be fvcking joking" and who could blame him. We are run by a trigger happy board who know nothing about football , a team that is in complete disarray with no chance of even getting into the play offs and a manager who could get the sack at any minute. Would you throw your chance of the big time away by joining city at the moment ? of course not. Our fanbase isn't history, our financial backing isn't history, our ground isn't history. We still have a lot to attract players, and our current league woes could turn around very quickly with a few astute buys.

You've hit the nail on the head. The only person who says he's not coming to Leicester is his current manager; surprise, surprise, cos it's in his own interests to make everyone else believe exactly that. Noone's heard anything from Sharp himself. I think his agent is fouling this up. But as others have said, if Sharp doesn't want to come to us unless we offer obscene amounts of money, then we don't want him. Pearson is right to call a halt to this practise.
Christoph Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Is this guy that good then? There seems to be a lot of people who really want him? I'll be honest, I no very little of him, but if your playing for a team thats 2nd from bottom, and your their main striker, then you can't be that good
MikeyT Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Chill people I'm sure we'll get 3-4 new signings in the next two weeks! Not! I can't wait for this season to be over and have a fresh start! Don't we all say this every single season.
Callabinho Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Why is this still open? he isn't coming end of...
Babylon Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Why is this still open? he isn't coming end of... It's open because all that has been said is he has "indicated" to Saunders he won't be coming, and we've said "the door is still open". He probably won't come, but there has been nothing particularly conclusive.
