Under the kosh on the FFP front for signing up Neymar for an unbelievable 200m, in serious need of selling off some assets to be compliant. How do they respond? Buy Kylian Mbappe for 130m. Apparently the loan deal has no fee so they'll pay that next summer and have until 2020 or 2021 to cover themselves for the outlay. FFP is a load of shit really
GeorgeTheFox Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 I feel so sorry for Monaco... at least we didn't get dismantled quite that badly after our title win

Jattdogg Posted 2 September 2017 Posted 2 September 2017 Barcelona director: Liverpool demanded €200M for Coutinhohttps://www.thescore.com/news/1363898 Barca complaining about teams spending too much even though they do the same crap. Just reading the comments from the barca director were laughable. So its ok for you to 'steal' a player from a less fortunate (less money) club like dortmund/rennes but when someone does it to you (PSG or liverpool) you cry about it. Jokers. Go pay dembele that 230k+ a week and shut it. On a side note i think all clubs should have a salary cap and cant hoard players. Level the playing field and be fair. Oh wait barca wouldnt want that would they?

Stadt Posted 4 September 2017 Posted 4 September 2017 The 2001 Deportivo 5-2 Real Madrid game was on sky the other day, brilliant.
Brainy Posted 5 September 2017 Posted 5 September 2017 Forgot about them until I just spotted their name sake in the division where I expected them to be after last years relegation from the top flight Dnipro are now playing in the Ukrainian 3rd division. http://uk.soccerway.com/teams/ukraine/fc-dnipro-dnipropetrovsk/2255/ There team is stupidly young aswell. Going okay in their league so far
MC Prussian Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 The Mexican league is getting more and more foreign players aboard. Gignac going to Tigres was an odd choice for a Frenchman, Keisuke Honda this summer was a WTF transfer (out of nowhere, first Japanese to play in Mexico, if I'm not mistaken), but now there's news that Kolodziejczak (ex-Sevilla and Mönchengladbach) and Matias Fernandez (formerly at Fiorentina) are going to join the Liga Bancomer also. Before that, Argentinian left-back Vangioni (formerly with Milan) went to Monterrey and fellow countryman Garcia to Deportivo Toluca. Makes for a much more attractive league now. Wonder now many more big names are going to be heading West still...
MC Prussian Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 Romania national team coach Christoph Daum, not too unfamiliar with scandalous behaviour himself, gives a memorable press conference:

davieG Posted 6 October 2017 Posted 6 October 2017 Ricardo Carvalho has been sentenced to seven months in prison due to tax offences whilst at Real Madrid between 2011 and 2012. The former Portugal international spent three seasons at the Bernabeu between 2010 and 2013 and has accepted the sentence handed out by the Madrid magistrate court. The prosecution office has requested a year in prison and a €300k, however the court felt that was ‘disproportionate’ and instead sentenced the 37-year-old to seven months in prison along with a €142,822 fine. The court praised Carvalho for his full acknowledgement of the circumstances and compliance in proceedings, alongside repaying the full fee of €545,981.03. Currently playing for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG this is news which is likely to end a two-decade long playing career which included spells at Porto, Chelsea and Monaco.

Guest Col city fan Posted 8 October 2017 Posted 8 October 2017 A magnificent first weekend to the A League, is sadly over. The Newcastle Jets look strong....but Central Coast look like they again may be the whipping boys of the division. Western Sydney were convincing, and Sydney FC put on a superb defensive display in Melbourne. Roll on week 2...

KingsX Posted 16 October 2017 Posted 16 October 2017 Veteran soccer player in Indonesia dies following horrific in-game head collision Indonesian goalkeeper Choirul Huda has died after a mid-game collision playing for Persela Lamongan. The freakish incident occurred just prior to the halftime whistle. The Persela goalkeeper left his line to clear away a ball but collapsed after colliding with team-mate Ramon Rodrigues and Pedang forward Marcel Sacramento. He collapsed on the field shortly after the head-to-knee collision and was transported to a local hospital before the team announced his death after the match. Huda had played over 500 matches for Persela dating back to 1999. The collision is bad, but not far beyond what a keeper is exposed to on many a 50-50 ball vs a reckless striker.
