AmyLGK Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Just listening to Clive Clarke talking about his cardiac arrest at half time during the city forest game. He gave thanks to Dave Rennie who gave him mouth to mouth till the paramedics arrived. Thank goodness such incredible people work at our football clubs.
Matt Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Also he revealed he has got a pacemaker and internal defibrilator which saved him again about a year and half after the incident when he was playing for us. Lucky man, hope he doesn't experience it again, and once again hope Muamba pulls through.
foxesfan1989 Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 We clearly have an incredible backroom staff. I remember it so vividly was horrible. I also remember us letting Forest walk the ball in and still beating them.
AmyLGK Posted 19 March 2012 Author Posted 19 March 2012 Yeh, I was watching that on youtube a while ago. True sportsmanship! I love our team!
Guesty Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Was a great gesture and the proper thing to do to let them score. The only thing that sort of irked me was the little amount of recognoition we got for it. If it had Man U or one of the big 4 they would have recieved much, much more media recognition. Especially since it was a local derby.

Guesty Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 I remember we received loads of local stuff. But don't remember much national stuff. Most people outside of Leicester and Nottingham don't know about it whenever I've mentioned it. Maybe I'm wrong though and we received more attention than I remembered. Still think a bigger team would have recieved more.

Callabinho Posted 19 March 2012 Posted 19 March 2012 Dave Rennie is incredible, I used to shadow a physio at Ellistown football club, he also used to physio at the Tigers for a bit. He always spoke very highly of Dave, we are very lucky to have him here!
OzFox Posted 20 March 2012 Posted 20 March 2012 Made it as far as Brazil ladies and gents. "fair play to Li-ces-ter" Good find

davieG Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Roy Keane reveals "evil thought" over on loan Leicester full back Clive Clarke's heart attack against Forest in 2007 By AlanThompson | Posted: October 07, 2014 29225738 Comments (0)Roy Keane has made the shocking revelation that he had an 'evil thought' because he felt 'glad' on loan Leicester full back Clive Clarke's heart attack happened on the same night as Sunderland were knocked out the League Cup by Luton Town. Clarke was on loan from Sunderland at Leicester City when he suffered a cardiac arrest in the changing rooms during a match against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in August 2007, causing the tie to be abandoned at half-time. The left back fell ill on the same evening Premier League side Sunderland - managed at the time by Keane - were humbled 3-0 at League One Luton. And Keane, now deputy manager at Aston Villa, reveals in his autobiography, The Second Half, that he was relieved the incident happened that evening because it distracted from Sunderland's display, Mail Online reports. He writes: 'I had the evil thought: "I'm glad he had it tonight" because it would deflect our woeful performance.' Keane also concedes that, having once joked that he was surprised ‘they’d found a heart’, he ‘sometimes forgot’ he ‘wasn’t the only person with parents and children’. Clarke enjoyed a nine-year football career before being forced to retire due to medical advice in February 2008 following his heart attack. He started his career at Stoke City in 1999, making 223 league appearances, before spending a season with West Ham United between 2005 and 2006. A move to Sunderland in 2006 was followed by loans to Coventry City and then Leicester. The left back became a football agent after retiring from the game due to medical advice in February 2008 at the age of just 27. To think anything like that let alone come out and say it just shows that he is a nasty piece of work. About 6 weeks ago I witnessed one of my friends collapse and die from a heart attack on a football pitch, he was given mouth to mouth and used a defibrillator but couldn't bring him round. So sad
Captain... Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Roy Keane is a bit of a massive twat cvnt isnt he Fixed it for you
Unabomber Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 I know he was an absolute weapon of mass destruction but this is really ridiculous, what a terrible thing to say.
RobHawk Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Controversial things like this sell books! He's cnut but he's only doing this to sell more books and make more money! People make careers out of doing the same thing! Just look at that Katie Hopkins!
Guest ttfn Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Roy is a class A Cnut. To think anything like that let alone come out and say it just shows that he is a nasty piece of work. About 6 weeks ago I witnessed one of my friends collapse and die from a heart attack on a football pitch, he was given mouth to mouth and used a defibrillator but couldn't bring him round. So sad Thinking it isn't a problem. Thoughts enter good people's heads all the time that are bad or evil or whatever. Joking that he was "surprised they'd found a heart" is pretty reprehensible though. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Corky Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 He writes: 'I had the evil thought: "I'm glad he had it tonight" because it would deflect our woeful performance.' What were the excuses for the entire Ipswich reign when woeful performance was almost weekly?
AKCJ Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 What were the excuses for the entire Ipswich reign when woeful performance was almost weekly? No snow?
Dickov22 Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 What were the excuses for the entire Ipswich reign when woeful performance was almost weekly? They still outplayed us in the snow. Mind you, we did have Sven as our manager who that day, typified the teams performance by cowering in his hood in the dugout.
Out Foxed Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 between Keane and KP's autobiographies i read some great quotes yesterday. that, however, is not one of them.
Dan Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Why would you even admit to that? Embarrassing. Indefensible. What a nobhead.
TrentFox Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Made it as far as Brazil ladies and gents. Never tire of seeing that. An outstanding decision by the club. Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up with pride because we want to run our affairs like that.
