FrankieADZ Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 One striker is clearly going to be leaving permanently it won't be Nugent, Waghorn, Vardy or Schlupp so in all it looks like Beckford could be potentially off imo, depending if any clubs put a bid in. I have to agree with you there. I'll be sad to see Beckford go tho if he did. Really talented forward on his day
Deucalion Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Before being sacked Sven's team had scored 15 in 13 league games which works out as 1.15 goals per game. His team conceded 14 goals in 15 games which works out as 0.93 goals per game. Not impressive.

Free agent Futacs was being chased by several Championship clubs. ​Leicester City have won the race to sign Hungarian under-21 international striker Marko Futacs However, he has agreed personal terms with City after training with the squad this week. There are still a few formalities to sort out before he can be officially unveiled as a City player. But he will fly out to Austria tomorrow with the squad for a week-long training camp. Futacs, 22, has signed a three-year contract having rejected a new contract at League One club Portsmouth. Although he has limited experience and is certainly not the finished article, the 6ft 5in striker is seen as the eventual successor to former target-man Steve Howard. Futacs will provide manager Nigel Pearson with more variety in his attacking options. City fans will be aware of the threat carried by the Budapest-born centre-forward as he opened the scoring against City at the King Power Stadium in the 1-1 draw with Pompey last November. Futacs joined Pompey last summer from German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, where he continued his development in the second team having spent spells as a youth with French club Nancy and Ferencvaros. So young, obviously got potential as he is a big physical presence and involved in international football. Give him a chance, he might just surprise us. I trust Pearsons judgement!

It's by no means a big signing but it's a good option to have. But no lets go and splash loads on some journeyman who's career is on the downslope because he's a bigger name. Seriously glad no-one on here is manager. Especially the Forest fan seenitall.

I really thought Beckford would be starting up front, but if Vardy is going to be used up top it probably does pave the way for a striker to leave. From what Pearson has said in the media about the how the fans will like Vardy, it suggests he will be playing Vardy.
