Babylon Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Matty James was at Preston a few years ago, I've seen him play. The way people talk about him, you would have thought we found him doing kick ups in a bloody cave on a desert island! So people on here have seen him play a couple of times at most, and unless they are an utter statto who makes notes on every single player it's unlikely they will be able to remember them.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Yawn, have you honestly ever seen Matt James play and when? James got a fair amount of assists from his time in the United reserves and Preston by playing the long ball from the middle over the last man for players to run on to, he's fairly accurate and reads play very well. The lads right so feel free to give him a break,
Bluetintedspecs Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 I do hope NP reads the opinions on FT before he makes his mind up
thybluefox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Nugent and Vardy can both play on the wing. Nugent and Vardy could play in goal, but it wouldn't be a great idea would it?
Fox42 Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 I meant in a 4-3-3, Nugent and Vardy both play on the side...
Out Foxed Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 I meant in a 4-3-3, Nugent and Vardy both play on the side... nuge was shit in that position last season. why do it again?
Long Eaton Fox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 He actually made 12 whole and 17 subs appearances for Pompey last season which really makes his goals per game ratio 1 in 3, not to bad for a 22 year old in a relegated side.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Anyone know when this is meant to be happening? Seems to have gone abit quiet.
lcfc_amie Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Rob Tanner â€@RobTannerMerc Developments in Futacs talks. See tomorrow's Mercury for details The team are flying to Austria on Sunday, so I'm guessing we want it done for then? (if it's not already done)
bluesbrothers Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Yessssss, i'll take Futacs any day. Lumbering Centre Forward Target Man hopefully aquired, now just Nige's centre back and i'm content. If this Matty James fella comes good, i'd be perfectly comfortable with a Midfield 4 of him, Marshall, Danns and King or Dyer, providing the latter two are in form.
EnderbyFox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Toffee Fox â€@FoxToffee Marko Fuctas has agreed personal terms with Leicester and is due to undergo a medical tomorrow #LCFC
CKB Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 I really don't know much about him other than he played pretty well against us last year.. If he's seen as a bench warmer, the Howard role then for 22 years old and on a free you may aswell take him
Fox42 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Marko Futacs has agreed personal terms with Leicester City and is set to undergo a medical tomorrow. Source: Stringer's Twitter.

Jaspa Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 According to the mercury its a done deal http://www.thisislei...ail/story.html? Why do they always have weird titles to their articles Saw one last week that just listed players names, and that one has 'city win the race to sign STRIKER' STRIKER wtf

seenitall Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 I bet he costs a lot, lot less. The criteria by which all great teams and players are ultimately judged eh?
Mark_w Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 The criteria by which all great teams and players are ultimately judged eh? If we can replace someone with a player capable of doing a similar job, that wants a lot less money then it's sensible to do so. Nugent/Waghorn/Vardy should be more than sufficient in terms of getting goals and Futacs is exactly the sort of striker we were missing last year. I doubt any of them are earning anything like the amount, Jermaine Beckford is. When we played Waggy in his favoured role he got 12 league goals for us, Beckford failed to get into double figures, don't think that really justifies the amount of money he is on, and personally I think we could find someone just as capable (Although I think we already have those players) who wouldn't cost anywhere near as much. I've got mixed emotions over this one myself, delighted we've got him in, he seems like exatly the sort of player we needed target man, hopefully he'll be able to hold the ball up and will be difficult to defend against. That said I am dissapointed that this pretty much puts an end to our chances of getting Heskey back.
dorsetfox Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 quite happy with this signing a younger stevie howard he seems to know where the net is and has played in some decent sides nancy and weder bremhen who are both respectable in their leagues also his international record at any level seems pretty decent for a kid International honours: @Hungary under-18s (3 caps, 5 goals), Hungary under-20s (8 caps, 4 goals), Hungary under-21s (16 caps, 7 goals 16 goals in 27 international games is a pretty decent return if you ask me whatever level with vardy described as a total workhorse and quality striker he could be the perfect partner for futacs running onto balls won in the air from the big guy we could be talking heskey and owen style for england but then again it could be ormandroid and phil gee all over again
bluesbrothers Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Happy days! All I ask is that he causes the problems for a striking partner to take advantage off, and we should be banging them in for fun. Nugent and Beckford, depending on who's got the jersey, running off the shoulder, with someone like Vardy coming in from a Wing / AMF position with his pace - all of a sudden, our strike force looks the complete package.
smudger63 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 More info from The News Portsmouth http://www.portsmout...witch-1-4057007 Isn`t going to score loads of goals, can`t run and turns like the QE2.Good luck to him and anyone who thinks he will score more than 5 goals next season. Two of the comments on him from portsmouth fans. Sounds promising!
Raw Dykes Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 More info from The News Portsmouth http://www.portsmout...witch-1-4057007 One of the comments on that page... 12 9:09 AM on 14/07/2012"Good another earner off the books" - He was a free agent, we weren't paying him Idiot.
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Pleased with this. Wanted us to go for a target man, and again, Nigel hasn't disappointed in securing the deal when we required it. Young striker, scored goals at this level in a relegated team, probably hungry and free... What's not to like? At least now when Kasper does his ridiculous, too long goal kicks, someone might be able to win the ball, or hold it up.
