There must be at least 2 forwards coming in if we're prepared to let Schluppy leave. Having released Vassell and Howard that leaves us with only 3 forwards doesn't it? (Vardy, Nuge, JB). That's not enough depth to challenge for even a playoff place IMHO.

Now we're back to 7 subs we need the likes of Schlupp and Panayiouto. If they do go out, it best not be on season long loans.

This...

How's about developing some of our own good talent and giving them a crack?

Schlupp and Panny are two of the best to come through the Academy in ages aren't they?

I hope they don't just go out on loan after loan only to be eventually sold on.

No we don't, Nugent, (Beckford or a new striker), Vardy, Waghorn and Hopper (Who should be at least ahead of Panayiouto, probably not Jeff), should be more than enough.

Right this is the last time I'm saying this

We will be having an under 21's team that will be managed by Steve Beaglehole that will ensure Jeff, Hopper , Harry P etc get a competitive game pretty much every week

Is Beaglehole as good as any other coach in the Championship ? Probably yes so they will be learning plenty

Will U21 football be the same as going out on loan and playing Championship / Div 1 football and getting used to being kicked from pillar to post ? Obviously it won't so maybe some of the young lads will go out on loan but I can't see it being many (if any at all)

For his development he needs 1st team football not glorified youth team level, which is what U21's will be, U21's is good for the young pros that are too old for the youth team and we can't get loan moves nothing more

Personally think it would be good to send both on loan, maybe Schlupp to Watford, or maybe even Palace.

Promising young Leicester City strikers Jeffrey Schlupp and Harry Panayiotou look set to go out on loan at the start of the season.

Clubs are reportedly lining up to acquire the services of the emerging talents.

Schlupp is wanted by Championship rivals Watford, Crystal Palace and Charlton, plus League One side Sheffield United, while Panayiotou is also attracting attention.

Schlupp is highly rated by City boss Nigel Pearson as a promising prospect but, after undergoing knee surgery at the end of last season, the 19-year-old will need first-team games and a loan move looks his best option.

Charlton manager Chris Powell knows Schlupp well from his time as a coach at City, and Blades boss Danny Wilson is also a long-time admirer.

It is understood Wilson made an enquiry about taking the Ghana international on loan last season.

Watford and Crystal Palace have also expressed an interest in taking Schlupp, but Pearson may be reluctant to allow the striker to join a Championship rival.

Schlupp had a successful loan spell at Brentford at the end of the 2010-11 season, scoring six goals in 10 games and helping the Bees to reach the Johnstone's Paints Trophy final at Wembley.

He signed a new contract at City in March 2011.

Schlupp marked his first competitive senior appearance for City last season with a hat-trick against Rotherham in the first round of the League Cup in August, becoming the first Leicester player to do so since 1945.

He went on to make 20 appearances for City last season, mostly as a substitute, scoring six goals.

Panayiotou will also be much sought-after following his emergence in Pearson's first team last season.

The 17-year-old marked his debut on the final day of the season with the winner against Leeds at Elland Road to become the fifth-youngest scorer in City's history.

The Leicester-born striker is now set to go out on loan to gain more valuable first-team experience.

Meanwhile, Trabzonspor have revealed the details of the deal that has taken defender Sol Bamba from City to Turkey.

The Black Sea club announced on the Public Disclosure Forum that City will receive a £750,000 transfer fee for Bamba.

Bamba has signed a five-year contract worth in excess of five million Euros in total. The Ivory Coast International will earn 1.07m Euros in each of his first two seasons.

The 27-year-old centre-back will make 1.01m Euros in each of the following three years.

don't think he ever scored for us

Ash was the youngest lad to appear in the City first team, at 15 in the League cup.

No goals for the first team however.

Ash played in the England under 17 team along with Danny Wellbeck, Danny Rose, Victor Moses, Henri Lansbury, Jason Steele, Rhys Murphy, Kristian Pearce and Dan Gosling, Alex Smithies, Michael Woods, Jordan Spence, Gavin Hoyte...

Decent set of players they were... Some of em have done very well.

Loan spell is logical for Schlupp and entirely predictable. We've added nothing to his game at first team level. Even his injury troubles started when he was foraging around somewhere in deep midfield where he should never have been. When he goes this time, I'd doubt he'll ever want to come back. We got so little out of the guy. .
