Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Heard this rumour the other day, bit harsh on Dyche, but think Zola could do well.
Corky Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 The Vialli experiment didn't work out for them, will this?
Tielemans63 Posted 2 July 2012 Author Posted 2 July 2012 The Vialli experiment didn't work out for them, will this? I'm really not sure. Zola is one of my favourite ever players but I'm not sure he's that great as a manager. He was average at West Ham and tvat was apparently with Steve Clarke pulling most of the strings.
Narborough_fox Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Awfully harsh on Dyche. Did very well with the limited budget that he had.
leicesterisme Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 As others have already said extremely harsh on Dyche who did a good job in the circumstances.
kingfox Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Very harsh on Dyche, everyone thought Watford were relegation candidates, but he turned them into a stable mid-table side, at one point they even looked like they were a decent bet to sneak into the play-offs. I respect Zola, decent manager, great person and well respected throughout football. But this could actually shoot Watford in the backside.
Fox92 Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 That Watford fan who is on here, said this about a week ago. Feel abit for Dyce, but that's football for you, especially when new owners come in. Zola in the Championship will be interesting, look forward to him and seeing where he takes Watford.
Corky Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Watford did put in one of the worst performances I've ever seen when they came to our place in October. Dyche did well to turn them around after that.
Super_horns Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Watford did put in one of the worst performances I've ever seen when they came to our place in October. Its interesting you say that because until November time most fans would have cared not one jot if Dyche had been sacked but as you say he really did turn things around and now fans are very disappointed. Thanks for the heads up Foz92! Zola was a fine player and maybe unlucky at West Ham but he will be under pressure to achieve at a level he probably knows very little about. Not sure its a good idea for us to bring in young loan players from overseas to a league like the Championship.
21st Century Fox Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 As an aside, does anyone else remember Gianfranco Zola's Pizzas?
Webbo Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 As an aside, does anyone else remember Gianfranco Zola's Pizzas? I can't top that.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 What did Dyche do wrong? This looks to me a triumph of style over substance, Zola flattered to deceive at West Ham in spite of some nice football in his first season.
Corky Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 As an aside, does anyone else remember Gianfranco Zola's Pizzas? Gareth Southgate probably advertised them.
MC Prussian Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 It's official: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18687313
Fox92 Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 Wonder if Zola makes use of his connections, because I bet he's got some, especially at Chelsea.
rico Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 Very harsh on Dyche, wonder if anyone will take a punt on him?
AyewJoking Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 First thing he'll do is make sure theres no horsing around from the players.
Leicesterpool Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 Not going to work I don't think, Zola struggled at West Ham yet I think he had a reasonable transfer budget when he was there. He can prove me wrong but I don't think he's cut out to be a manager, despite this takeover I can see Watford heading the other direction. Shame on Dyce they could have showed him some respect and sacked him straight after the season ended instead of sacking half way through the summer and appointing their next manager before sacking him.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 He was clueless in the transfer market, bought that Savio Nsereko chap who made Akinbiyi look a shrewd signing. £8/9 million I think it was.

Tielemans63 Posted 3 July 2012 Author Posted 3 July 2012 His Wikipedia page ! http://en.wikipedia....i/Savio_Nsereko Great read! The boy's a nutcase Made me laugh to read that West Ham insisted on keeping 50% of his image rights! That must equate to about a tenner.
