C-man Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 The performance of our clubs this year will undoubtably mean that we will lose our number 1 spot on the UEFA coefficient, however the rate of decline is truly staggering. I don't think there's a single English club i'd now put in the top 10 in Europe We lost number 1 spot years ago didn't we? We are now closer to Germany in 3rd than Spain in 1st, and if the group stage is anything to go by that won't be changing any time soon.

It looks all downhill for the EPL at the minute.

Guest MattP Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 meaning? fewer entrants in the competition? Nah, not yet, would be if the Itais had a serious surge over the next couple of years but that's not going to happen, the top three get 4 places still.
definitely not finners Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Will an additional EPL team have to go through qualifying as,opposed to going straight into the groups or are 2nd and 3rd place literally identical?
C-man Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Think it is the same - 3 teams would still qualify automatically, with 4th place having to win a play-off.
Fox in the North Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Went to watch Montpellier vs Schalke last night. It was a cracking day out and the game did not disappoint!
Matt Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Arsenal, men playing as boys Come off it, excellent team they have there, I just hope they don't lose key players else they won't be as good as they are for much longer, really fear for them. As for tonights games - Come on FC Nordsjaelland! My prediction is they lose tonight, draw in their next league game and Rafa will be gone - Not a bad pay off for 3 weeks (If that?) work is it?
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Chelsea game is ridiculous EDIT: No way was Cahill in the box when that hit his arm!!
marko Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Hazard just missed penalty for Chelsea. I swear I've seen more quality on show in Championship games. As I type Chelsea have just got another penalty.
shen Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 FCN have been a tad embarrassing in the CL. I never thought they could do much in this group, but as we speak, they're only one goal away from setting the record for most goals conceded ever in the CL group stages. Not a great stat for a champion side. One could say they've been Ajax 'lite' as in they don't compromise their play style and get punished for it big time in Europe. Ah well, it's good they got the money so they can hopefully compete with FC Copenhagen for a few more years in the Superliga.
Jimothy Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Glad to see Torres score. Iain Dowie is a ****. Why what did Dowie do?
marko Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Messi stretchered off. Might stop him from breaking the record.
Corky Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Celtic will be thanking that ref, never a penalty.
RowlattsFox Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Celtic will be thanking that ref, never a penalty. Glad someone else thought so because no one has mentioned it. Never a pen.
Super_horns Posted 5 December 2012 Posted 5 December 2012 Man U v Celtic next round. Arsenal will pobably get Barca and quite frankly deserve it after throwing away the chance for top spot from their group last night (knew it was the refs fault..)
