Bugg Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 Say Bradford get Villa in the SF, edge them out and play Chelsea in the final, they'll be in the Europa League next season That only applies to the FA Cup. You have to win the cup to get Europa league in the league cup.
Fox in the North Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 That only applies to the FA Cup. You have to win the cup to get Europa league in the league cup. Dammit, would have been brilliant!
Jon the Hat Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 Surely Wenger is toast? Arsenal probably won't move him on during the season, but you have to think this is his last. Been going nowhere for years. All their World class players reaslised this and moved on. A shadow of their former team now.
Super_horns Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 I doubt Wenger will be too disappointed TBH given he had the league cup very low on his radar but well done Bradford and it does increase the pressure on Wenger.
purpleronnie Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 I doubt Wenger will be too disappointed TBH given he had the league cup very low on his radar but well done Bradford and it does increase the pressure on Wenger. I think he will given their league position, especially as its been so long since they won anything. Playing his reserves was a huge mistake, never understand it, they'd be in the semi finals now if he had put a decent side out.
Super_horns Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 Maybe but then I was only going by the fact he said himself getting to the Champions league is more important than winning either the FA Cup/League cup. Sad but the way modern football has gone to an extent. Wenger might be embarrassed they lost to Bradford though...and by all account deserved to.

Interesting stat Bradford City's team cost £7,500 in transfers and Arsenal's £63.5m What a waste of money
accessory Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 I doubt Wenger will be too disappointed TBH given he had the league cup very low on his radar but well done Bradford and it does increase the pressure on Wenger. Look at the team fielded last night - virtually the strongest available. Wenger wanted and expected to win that game. But events brutally exposed his side's lack of character and mental strength. It's not a question of if he leaves, but when. Pep Guardiola could probably name his price, if he wanted to move there.

That would be interesting to see. Guardiola still has to prove he can actually build his own team, rather than inherit the best young squad in history and win stuff. I think he will given their league position, especially as its been so long since they won anything. Super_horns Posted 12 December 2012 Posted 12 December 2012 Swansea just edge through...fancy them to win.
Carl the Llama Posted 13 December 2012 Posted 13 December 2012 All the Arsenal reactionists on here must have very short-term memories. There's still a long way to go in the season yet and it's hardly the first time Arsenal have looked like they might not make the top 4. Despite this (I don't know the exact figure) it's been years since Arsene failed to get them to the CL, and just as long since he failed to make the knockout stages. Not even big-spending Fergy's managed to match that record despite his silverware. Nor has Fergy led a team to a defeatless season. Just because he doesn't splash the cash to buy titles in no way makes Arsene a poor manager and you'd have to be an idiot of a chairman to fire him. Not happening.

I think what's strange to many is that finishing in the top 4 seems to be the ambition. Arsenal under Wenger used to compete right at the top, they had 7 years of finishing 1st or 2nd, whilst winning cups in addition. It has been years consecutively that they've got through in the Champions League but have they won it? No, so it's not an amazing feat really. Wenger used to be brilliant, used to get good players and make them better, but he's not doing that much any more. Not saying he should be sacked but serious questions need to be asked of him now.
AKCJ Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 Chris Kamara â€@chris_kammy Frank Lampard with an unstoppable free kick well saved by Jamie Ashdown, it's halfway time 1-0 Classic Kammy.
marko Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 3-1 Chelsea. Two quick goals from Ivanovic and Moses.
Mack Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 They can go back to slagging off Bates again now. I see they aren't moaning about ticket prices when a Premier League team show up in town.
Soar Fox Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 Swansea V Bradford in the final. The 2nd leg at home for both of them, will see them through I think.
Leicesterpool Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 Swansea V Bradford in the final. The 2nd leg at home for both of them, will see them through I think. Doesn't work like that
Soar Fox Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 Doesn't work like that Ah sorry, I mean villa will win it easily and you will have a fantastic day out at wembley.
foxfanazer Posted 19 December 2012 Posted 19 December 2012 Mata is easily the best player in the prem right now. Just controls every game! Great to watch
