Mark_w Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 If we pulled the plug then we're now in a very weak negotiating position with Huddersfield should the deal be resurrected. Perhaps, but Huddersfield will be desperate to get a striker in on loan now though, so we should still be able to get a decent deal.
Mack Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 We pulled the plug almost certainly because our replacement target fell through. At the end of the day Beckford now knows Pearson would rather move him on for someone else. Not a good situation.

At the end of the day Beckford now knows Pearson would rather move him on for someone else. Not a good situation. Or like I said it could/it should spur him on to prove a point. Having said that he could still escape when the loan window opens if the atmosphere between the two isn't good.
Believe! Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Reading said we enquired about taking Le Fondre on loan, but they said not yet, until the loan window re-opens. I am guessing, it is then when we will loan out JB.
fleckneymike Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Perhaps, but Huddersfield will be desperate to get a striker in on loan now though, so we should still be able to get a decent deal. We've got an incredibly weak bargaining position now, they know we want rid, they know he (allegedly) wants to sign for them and we've ****ed them about (and possibly him). If I were Huddersfield there's no way I'd agree the same deal as previously.
Mack Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Or like I said it could/it should spur him on to prove a point. Having said that he could still escape when the loan window opens if the atmosphere between the two isn't good. Does he comes across as that type to you? Because to me he seems the type to take his arse in his hand and cause bother. Hope I am wrong.
Leicfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 We pulled the plug almost certainly because our replacement target fell through. I don't believe that at all. I think we tried to bully them into a corner at the last minute by changing the terms knowing they were desperate for a striker and hoped they'd accept out of desperation. It didn't work and now we're stuck with a player that in effect signed for a new club.
Believe! Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 How do we know that JB didnt pull out?? I imagine that if JB was the one who pushed the deal,he will not be in the squad today.
Matt Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Does he comes across as that type to you? Because to me he seems the type to take his arse in his hand and cause bother. Hope I am wrong. You are right, that is my major problem with me and reason I am not too fussed if he goes, if anything I think I want him to go because of the reason. Like I keep saying on his day, when he wants it, he is our best player, unfortunatly he doesn't have many of 'his days' though. This is now his last chance, he either proves a point and starts proving it consistanly or he sulks and/or fucks off. Really I suppose the ball is in his court, if he sulks he reaps the benefits of a stupid expensive contract Sven offered him for sitting on the bench, or he goes to another club, but if he wants to be playing football - which I expect every footballer wants to do he needs to pull his finger out one way or the others. Also if Huddersfield now don't want him, he isn't going to interest many teams by sitting on the bench is he.
tyneside fox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 according to Huddersfield We wanted permanent deal They wanted loan deal. Beckford is a professional footballer and should still give 100 percent for the team... after all he will surely be wanting to make himself appealing in the shop window

And probably gone once the loan window opens. (Unless the Manager beats him out of the door) Then anything can happen.
Craig Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 at how they were relying on Beckford to replace Rhodes, only for us to pull the plug leaving them no time to find another replacement. Smooth.
whitwickfox Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Yep I suppose you could now say Huddersfield will join hull in not having any dealings with us. Keep going nigel no one will want to know us soon
lcfc matt Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Despite a summer long transfer saga, which finally gathered pace yesterday, Jermaine Beckford will remain a Leicester City player. Huddersfield Town were keen to take the former Everton forward on loan as a replacement for Jordan Rhodes. At one stage the deal appeared all but completed, just for the Foxes to pull the plug on the switch at the last minute. Bolton also offered some interest in taking the 28 year old, but no move ever materialised. Huddersfield may go back in for Beckford once the loan window reopens, however as it stands Beckford will be staying at City and must fight for his place back in the Leicester City first team. I got this of an LCFC app on my iPhone I don't know if this has been posted already but I can't be arsed to go through previous pages.
dayday Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Huddersfield fans reckon Leicester were trying to sign Harry Kane, but he opted to go to Norwich instead....so thats why Nigel pulled the plug on the Beckford deal at the last minute.
AKCJ Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Their CEO is a knob for tweeting about it. Absolutley no right to do it.

Ricey Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Apparently Huddersfield chief executive has said we pulled the plug after a deal for Harry Kane feel through when Norwich came in for him.
Believe! Posted 1 September 2012 Posted 1 September 2012 Wouldn't of minded Kane Totally agree. Wouldnt have minded trying to get Andy Keogh on a permanent, or we can try and get Le Fondre on loan in the next couple of weeks. Opinions?
inckley fox Posted 2 September 2012 Posted 2 September 2012 Those who thought it was the end of the world that we were trying to get shot of Beckford must have seen today's game and how he missed two sitters, gave the ball away repeatedly and failed to ever track back. For those of us who don't look for any old excuse to call for Pearson's head that must have felt oddly familiar. Oh, and he's one of our highest earners. But obviously we'd be insane to let him go, what with that lofty haul of 9 goals per year and trivialities like FÃnancial Fair Play and whatnot.

I'm not his biggest fan but he put a shift in yesterday. Probably tried to hard. His execution was off but I don't his effort can be questioned.
