Nick Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 The calibre comment is very true and people think that it no longer applies to us because of what Sven did here. He did bring in some players I must admit I never would've dreamed of getting, the main one being Yakubu, but Sven was a serious one-off with his pulling power and unfortunately he had no idea how to use these players - why spend more money on players which you can't even use properly? So true.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Basically, we need a manager with Premiership experience, not only to build a successful Championship side, but one that with a few additions could cope at the top level. I have no desire to seek attention, but I do believe in speaking my mind. If this annoys some people, then that is their bad luck. DT I don't agree..... what Premiership experience did MON have or the the recent promoted managers that Rich correctly compiled.I didn't have you tagged as a sensitive soul so knew you wouldn't take offence at my observations and opinion. May I suggest you try a radical stance and see where we are at the end of November? I personally think the squad and style of play will really start to reap rewards this season and we are heading in the right direction. I'm curious DT do you go to matches are you a ST holder? In conclusion more than anything I feel our club needs a sustained period of stability to achieve the desired rewards and NP will deliver given continued support and backing.

No, I am not a season ticket holder, but when I can, I go to both home and away games, as I have done since 1960. I have seen many players, and a good many teams under different managers over that length of time, and had some great times, but for the past few seasons I have not been inspired. I do agree there are a good few examples of managers, such as MON who have taken teams up, but for me the issue is not to merely gain promotion, but to stay up. That is my concern at this moment in time. I want to see my club staying up there with the best, and I am pretty damn sure in my own mind , that Redknapp could achieve this, unlike Mr. P., who seems unable to inspire his troops. Truly, I am not bothered by hostile reaction (not you, I know ), in which case I tend to respond in kind. I have said it a few times already, that "time will tell". No one would be more delighted than me, to see Mr. P. take us up, but I am sure in my own mind that this will not happen. Hope this answers your question.

You must be the first caller on Radio Leicester after every match right? We tried that route of sacking a manager every year how about we try to keep a manager for more than 2 years and see where that gets us? Pearson will take this club forward if he is given time, hes clearly brought in some good talent and has got the team playing some good football if we can tighten up at the back and start to put away our chances then maybe just maybe we could get out of this league this year, I think we have a much better chance than we have had in the previous few years and beyond.
dannythefox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 I really think people are jumping the gun here we have a good manager in place with the squad he's built and it's a good one. It would be silly to panic and swap managers now he would want to start over again with the squad. If we win on Sunday then we have two home games which fingers crossed 4 points minimum could put us well up there and knowone will be moaning!

Happy Fox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 According to this http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-league/1157-city-eyes-on-redknapp.php#.UE93HLJlTdU by Hugh Southon 11th September 2012 4:33pm Harry Redknapp could make a swift return to management with Leicester City, Sports Direct News can reveal The 65 year old - who is volunteering as an advisor at his local club Bournemouth - is desperate for an early return to the game and the Foxes board are closing in. Chairmn Vichai Raksriaksom is keen on the Londoner along with the remainder of the Thai-based Asia Football Investments consortium now in charge of the club. Despite Leicester taking six points from their first four games, they are stuck in tenth place and manager Nigel Pearson has come under pressure. Redknapp himself is desperate for a return to the game although but there remain doubts whether he wants to stay far from his him in the south west. A source close to the Foxes board said: "There's a lot of ambition and a lot of money available at this club and several powerful people are very keen on Harry. "There seems little doubt that if the team is not in the promotion bunch at Christmas then we could easily see some changes and Harry - were he interested - would certainly be involved."

Happy Fox Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Harry Redknapp would be a good appointment no one can deny that really he may have flaws but not as many as NP purely because of his experience at this level and in the prem, if the owners aren't convinced by NP than make a change sooner rather than later imo.
shade Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 all the talk about handling egos is nonsensical. an ego is a synonym for a dick basically, not all good players are dicks, ergo buy players that aren't dicks. if I was a manager I wouldnt want to handle 'egos' because I would know my team had a dick in it. there's three types of people in this world, dicks, pussies and assholes....
Corky Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Redknapp left Tottenham in June. If they were so desperate for him why didn't they go for him then, instead of allowing Pearson the chance to sort his own squad out only to leave five or so games into the season?
Webbo Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 there's three types of people in this world, dicks, pussies and assholes.... Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to **** all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get ****ed by dicks. But dicks also **** assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't **** the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

Ego often helps in sport. Especially strikers

Have they demonstrated a high level of common sense so far?
shade Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Ego often helps in sport. Especially strikers I disagree, I was a striker and played for everton with Franny Jeffers and I don't have an ego. maybe that's becuse I'm awesome though?
Corky Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Have they demonstrated a high level of common sense so far? Not particularly.
Daggers Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Not particularly. There's your answer, potentially.

Only three types??? Which one do you class yourself as?
shade Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Only three types??? Which one do you class yourself as? read webbos in the know response. Guest Col city fan Posted 11 September 2012 Posted 11 September 2012 Came on for the last 20 minutes. Cheers Corky I'm a bit surprised King, given his current form, isn't starting. Wales, as I said over the summer, are a very poor side.
